I would say Primo has the best Italian food in the area. Smaller place, nice atmosphere with outside seating as well. Not overly... crowded as it is in a smaller town. I ate the chicken parmesan and would argue that it was the best I've ever had. Willdefinitely be returning here! Read more
I feel like a moron for never stopping in and trying this place years ago. I've lived around the area my whole life. Well, on a... whim after getting horrible service at another place in maple plain, we decided to stop in. We had no reservations, but we werethere early and they allowed us to take a table outside. By 6 the place was packed. The prices are "high" but it's a small bizmaking everything by hand. The food was perfectly made (understatement of the year), drinks were perfectly mixed. Service wasgreat as well. We were beyond impressed. You would be hard pressed to find better Italian anywhere in the state. No joke.Seriously amazing. We will be back. 3.5 stars. The good: nice ambience with classic music from 1940s/50s playing, friendly service. Dad enjoyed his spaghetti with... meatballs. The not so good: very cold in the restaurant, the side salad was nine dollars and it was VERY small. I wouldn?texpect it to be huge but it was extremely overpriced at $9. I ordered the bucatini but received the baked dish with sausageinstead. I didn?t take it back, and it was ok. Mussels were fishy and bland, I think they needed more of the broth or moreflavor to the broth. Mussels should always really be submerged in the poaching process to give them the much needed flavor. Ithink we?ll give it one more try, not doing the mussels or salad. I want to like this place, it?s charming and has a great storybehind it, definitely potential. Please beef up the salads a bit!! 4.5! Cute place, excellent service, our waiter was great. Some vegetarian options available and others that can be modified.... Fettuccine and the mushroom risotto were delicious. Only reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars were the fries and ravioli werejust ok. Read more
