Came for lunch. Food is meh. Service is ok. They are attentive but not on top of things. I had to ask for salt and tortilla... chips more than a couple of times. Food is actually MX-AMERICAN food. Lulu’s around the block has more authentic food. Togive you an idea, their salsa is very mild, the "tomatoey" kind. They use a lot of American cheddar cheese on their dishes. Been here thrice and tried a different dish each Time. Every single Time it's been a pleasure, great food, wonderful atmosphere,... friendly and attentive service. It has all been a lovely experience. Strawberry Margarita is delightful complement to many ofthe dishes. Haven't tried the others yet. One warning though, dishes are huge in portion, be prepared to ask for a takeout box. Read more
It's fiesta time outdoors while listening to a band performing, or inside the long bar to appreciate some very fine tequilas.... Fresh iceberg lettuce gives the food an extra crunch and vigor to the dishes. A beautifully decorated restaurant housing twolarge aquariums, Mexican embroidery art, lush landscaping, soothing water fountains; a kid could get lost here. The housemargaritas are refreshing with freshly squeezed limes. An extra side shot of tequila can be added or enjoyed as an accompanimentto the margarita if you have the extra time. The patio is the place to be on warm evenings. That being said, I’m downgrading from four to three stars because the food is... rather uninteresting when you dig into the menu. I tried a combination with a Guajillo Enchilada and a Mole Enchilada, both withchicken. I could not cut either enchilada with a fork with the large tough chunks of bland chicken. Beyond that, there waslittle flavor or warmth in either sauce. The Guajillo sauce looks like cheese sauce, and that’s what it tasted like. The molewasn’t any better, it looked fine but couldn’t add much zest or flavor to the chicken. I wish they put more effort intotheir Chicken Tortilla Soup, too. The broth and chicken were great, but except for some overcooked zucchini wedges, there wereno other veggies, and the cheese looked like tofu sticks. Read more
