Very busy during dinner time everyday. Some skewers are a bit too salty but most of them are great and you can taste the... ingredients’ original flavor. The ingredients for sashimi and sushi are fresh. Parking is easy on-site with validation onlycosts $2 for <2 hour. Read more
Pretty sub par place. Really just ok if you want to tell your friends that you went to a "Japanese Izakaya". Yellowtail hand... roll was standard. The tonkatsu was not fried well and had a mushy layer below the panko. The buta-kaku was probably the bestdish. Meat fell apart so easily and the broth was so flavorful. Read more
I have mostly good things to say about this place. Great value, both drinks and food are priced reasonably. I have been to... many other izakaya places where only kitchen food (hot food) is good but sushi is very mediocre or the other way around, butthis place is good with both sushi and yakitori. Must try food items: Chicken liver $3.5/ skewer - for someone who usuallydoesn't eat liver because of the bitter taste, i can say that Bizan did very well in making it tasty and I can actually enjoyit! Beef tongue $6/ skewer - so tender, so tasty! Premium beef $7/ skewer - pricy but worth the money! Uni Chawanmushi $13 -large piece of uni and lots of fixings inside. Worth the money, and feels food when you enjoy it as last item of your meal, justwarm your body and soul! Kamasu sushi - $10 for 2 pcs. Looks like white fish but with high fatty content, they torched it a bitso the whole piece just melts in your mouth. Sake is priced reasonable too. They actually serve Daishichi Kimoto Honjozo ashouse cold sake. $9 only, good value and so versatile and pairs well with all kinds of yakitori. Great service, we requested toswitch table when the booth became available. Our serve help us to swtich without hesitation. The only area for improvementwould be the atmosphere! I have never been to an izakaya so quiet......Usually izakaya is a little bit noisy (with peopledrinking, chatting) with uplifting music. Any place located in Yaohan plaza gets extra points, and the food is very good. Chawamushi and Yakatori and monkfish liver! I... felt i was back in Torrance! All the food was excellent, the Hamachi I really liked too. Weird interaction with a host that'sworth mentioning-- we have double booked reservations and I trying to call and let them know. When I arrived I told the hostthat I was apologizing for the double booking and told him that I tried to call, he took it to mean that I was annoyed that hehadn't answered the phone and told me about six different ways that they were way too busy to answer the phone. Even though hetook about 5 minutes to explain that to me in every angle possible. Didn't ruin the food though! Read more
