We?ve been wanting to try the hot pot concept. If you love to choose your broth, your choice of noodles, meats, veggies please... try a hot pot restaurant. I have to say I wasn?t impressed with the service, we got seated within seconds of arrival and thewaiter left. We found a QR code on the table to view the menu and as we pull it up the waiter came back with water and to askwhat broth and meats we wanted( you get a choice of 4). He didn?t great or welcome us or give us instructions on what to do, itwas our first time and we felt rushed to choose. We should have spoke up and said we needed a minute and asked to give us arundown. We also didn?t realize there is a knob under your table so you can choose how hot you want your hot pot to be. (1-5) Wealso weren?t told to go to the unlimited bar to pick our noodles/veggies/seafood/sauce. Take your time and only add thenoddles/veggies/meats to your hot pot that you think you?ll consume in the next few minutes because we added ALL our noodles andveggies at once not realizing it would get soggy. Don?t over-serve yourself when you go to the buffet to pick what you want toadd to your hot pot because they will charge you 5.99 for any extra food you leave behind. I?ll try hot pot again but not sureif this is where I would return due to the service we didn?t receive. Gave it 4 stars but the food would be 5 and 1 for theservice. Waiting was 30-40min. I joined waitlist on my way, when I arrived to store i waited only less than 5min. Make sure join the... waitlist before you heading to here. Wait is pretty long in dinner time. I?ve been to the other shabuyas in OC and LA. This is by far the biggest location. Just my style. Not pretentious. Not trying to... be something it?s not. Just good food at a good price. Bumped it up from a 3.5 rating bc it can fold large groups and I meanlarge groups. Not many restaurants can scale up for large events. Servers were nice. Even the non Korean servers could explainthe menu in Korean. Impressive ;) Read more
A different way to eat MEAT! A pot of boiling broth made in house, dropping fresh cut vegetables and your choices of various... seafood into this boiling broth and don?t forget the thinly sliced Meats of your choice dropped into this broth as well, thendipped into the various sauces they have. Shabuya Shabu Shabu Due to Google?s wrong info, we were too late last night. They were close at 10pm. And today, it seems to be... corrected already as last night, we were not the only ones here. We try again today and there are at least 7 groups of peoplein front of us reserved through Yelp. And we are lucky enough to have the table ready within 5 minute instead of 51-71 minutesfrom the waitlist tablet. Food is generous and self serve. All you need to do is scan the barcode for menu and order the meatsyou like. The most popular is 1, 2, 3 and 6 and they?re indeed good. But we order like twice only because not only meat areavailable. There are many types of soup bases. I try Chinese hot pot type and it was not spicy at all. But you can use thesauces they provide to make it up. There are veggies, salads, noodles, rice cakes, fish cakes, octopus, clams, shrimps, fish,crawfish and others to choose from. It is like a feast and we are stuffed. The service is nice and polite. Once you tell themyou want to have water, more soup or meat, they are really prompt and you can call anyone to do so instead of a specific waiteror waitress. It has a parking lot for customers, but not free. The valet tells me, self parking or valet parking , it is $2.Not much of a big deal, it is just odd that we need to pay for parking when we come to eat here. Maybe this is another LA thingI need to learn. It is nice, no crazy music and loud noise. The receptionist and everyone else is really polite with goodEnglish. They are Koreans and I respect their hardworking spirit. The restroom is clean and all the toilet paper?s sensors areworking well. Also bright and dry. I like the cleanness of it.
