Greta service, personable chefs. I recommend doing the chef’s table when doing the omakase experience. The amount of pieces... you get is amazing. The use real wasabi. Not the green colored horseradish you get at most sushi spots. The sake is prettystrong, so make sure you are good to drive afterwards lol. Read more

The sushi was transcendent. We had the omakase at the counter and it was incredible. Still dream about the sea perch, the ankimo... and the big eye snapper. The staff were really lovely especially our chef. Read more

Do yourself a favor and dine at the chef’s counter!! We came on a whim early January and just returned tonight in March. Blown... away by the experience both times. We met the owner and head chef the first time, just so happened to be sat with him, who movedfrom Tokyo two years ago right before the pandemic to open this place. Every piece of decor and dish ware is imported fromJapan. You choose your own sake glass and they have the Toto highest end toilets for gods sake. He met the dream of opening hisrestaurant then the pandemic hit, which he spent primarily alone making sushi for take out orders and not knowing people in LA.The care he and the other chefs take in preparing each bite was astounding. We met fellow diners who shared that it’s theclosest experience they’ve found to dining in Tokyo. While we haven’t yet been to Japan, our desire to only grows every timewe come here. It’s truly delicious and the counter experience makes it special. Okay that’s enough you guys are all gunnatake my reservation spots now. Read more

After hours of research, I booked Sushi Tama for this year's Valentines' dinner. Let me preface by saying that this is the one... of the best traditional omakase meal we had. I want to focus on traditional because chef Yoshimoto is all about the bestingredients, and he claims +90% of ingredients are from Japan. Most of all, wow, these are tasty sushi! And rice was preppedperfectly: not too sticky, good firmness, and just a tiny hint of vinegar. Omakase consists of a wide variety fish and cookingstyles. A few notes: - omakase took about 1.5 - 2 hours - there are two pricings for omakase: sushi counter is $150 and tableis $100. When you sit at a table and ordered an omakase, all food will arrive at once in a box. But if you reserve counterseats, you will get sushi counter price of $150. Chef Yoshimoto is prepping your dishes right in front of you. He will set eachsushi in front of you when it's ready. - it was interesting to learn that chef Yoshimoto isn't a fan of omakase. He didn't havesuch option when he first opened the store. Eventually he added it to the menu. He is all about eating the fish you like (tunafor him). - Omakase bento box is no longer available. He is all about the whole dinning in experience. - Make sure you bringyour vaccination card & ID. They will check it at the entrance - restrooms have Toto bidet - music is kinda loud in thebackground, not the best place to talk business Read more
