I selected Fork & Barrel as a dinner celebration with one of my best friends for my birthday celebration. It did not disappoint... and you can skip to the end to see what happened that made it special. You have to make reservations, and our table was waitingfor us, upon arrival. Parking was very convenient, as they have an onside parking lot. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and I amgoing to confess right now, that it was the best Old Fashioned that I have ever had. I said nothing to my server regarding it,because I didn't want to seem like a lush; but it was wonderful, and literally had a sweet spot at the end before I got to thecherry under the sphere of ice. I ordered deviled eggs as an appetizer, and requested the bacon be on side. Personally, I don'teat bacon, but my friend does. The deviled eggs have a mix of blue cheese, and it can be tasted; so if you are use to thetraditional yellow mustard and vinegar - this may not be the appetizer for you - but I enjoyed it! My friend ordered a cup ofthe tomato soup, while I got the fried brussels sprout salad, that is topped off with a fried egg. We enjoyed ourselections! For the entree, I got the salmon that was on top of a mixture of sweet potato spinach and quinoa, with a side ofmashed potato. He got (beef) stroganoff. I wasn't impressed with the mashed potatoes at all; there was no culinary flare tothem, I could have made them at home myself; save your money and don't order it. So here is the special moment that stood out -dessert. My friend had told Liza (our server) that we were celebrating my birthday (Happy Birthday to all the Scorpios!) and Iselected the triple brownie. The brownie was large and warm, and had a happy birthday centerpiece alongside whipcream andvanilla ice cream, and a card! My friend and I shared dessert. I thought the card was such a nice, thoughtful, and creativetouch!!! It was stamped showing it was from the team of Fork and Barrel, and they had all signed it! I really enjo Read more

Fork and Barrel was a lovely experience. On a previous visit, we stopped her for breakfast at Morning Fork, which we loved. We... didn't realize until we pulled into the parking lot that Fork and Barrel were in the same spot. They are two restaurants in onebuilding. Check the website for hours for each. And try them both. I had the Pork Chop, and my wife had the Fish Stew. That wason special that evening. The fish stew was spectacular. The pork chop was delicious, but the scalloped potatoes stole the showfor me. I grew up eating scalloped potatoes at every family gathering. I never loved them and, most of the time, hate them. These were not my Grandma's scalloped potatoes. It was a stack of thinly sliced potatoes with a ton of flavor and a good balanceof creaminess. In addition to the food, the staff was excellent. The owner/Chef Geoffery was visiting the tables during his timein the kitchen. He took the time to ask us about our experience and tell us a little about his restaurant and dishes. Not to sayeverything was perfect. Our waitress placed our drink order at the bar but forgot to bring them out. We only got them afterasking the bartender. The bartender and the waitress apologized, went a step further, and comped our drinks for the night. Iappreciated how they handled the mess up. Not because it was free, but because they acknowledged the issue, explained how ithappened, and offered a solution before we asked anything. We can't wait to visit again on our next trip to Louisville. Read more

Went there for Burger week. Burger was fine, fries were delicious. The burger is $19 on the normal menu which is insane. Glad I... enjoyed it for $7. Atmosphere made them entire experience. Cute tables, beautiful bar and welcoming staff. I would like to trynormal menu items at some point. Read more

If you have any problems with your meal here—including finding a long hair in your dish—don’t expect management to go too... far out of their way to try to fix the issue. Indeed, they will find a way to make it your problem. But what they WILL do isterrify their serving staff, they get five stars for that. Thank god I don’t live in town, because I would never come backhere for the meh food and terrible customer service. Read more
