My first time staying and it was great. If you're looking for modern and updated this place probably isn't for you but personally I love the old cabin in the woods feel. I also loved that it was located in between a bunch of state parks and not far from Grand Marais. We will definitely be returning here in the future!

We loved the little cabin. We stayed in Cabin 1. Loved that we could hike right out to the State Park from the property. Was nice to have the option of using the billard stuff in the lodge when raining. My only wish was if we could see the tv from the bed. We definitely would stay here again!!

We have been coming here for 8 years now! The staff are warm and welcoming, always ready with a smile. The breakfast sandwiches at the restaurant are AMAZING! They offer a wide variety of accommodations which offer different types of views. We love staying in one of the cabins with a Lake view. The cabins are charming and cozy with wood-burning stoves.

Mixed feelings. Love the history. Literally staying in 100 year old log cabin with beautiful stone fireplace. Very rustic and mismatched. Torn between thinking it's charming or just in disrepair. Lights are dim. No phones in cabins. Poor cell service, which they explained and can't help. Still I couldn't make needed calls. Path to cabin was quite icy. Sprinkling sand or gravel would have helped a lot. Snowed while we were there and they were quick to plow. All in all I would come again but minor repairs would have a major impact. Loved the comfy beds.

My husband and I have stayed here three years in a row in room 104. We love it because we get our own entrance to our room, for the amazing view of the lake, the hot tub, fireplace, mini-fridge, central location on the north shore, and that it is nestled right in the middle of Cascade State Park. I've also stayed in the main lodge in the late '90's and have fond memories of that stay. The lodge is clean and well taken care of. Every year we notice upgrades in our room which tells me that they care. With COVID, they even added a HEPA filter to the room. As a historic lodge, there are always going to be quirks like not enough three-prong outlets. That is just a comment, not a complaint. We buy the firewood and restaurant vouchers with our reservation though I don't think there is any savings by pre-purchasing the breakfast vouchers. The wood was in our room when we got here, though, and they even added a paper bag of some newspapers which was a nice touch. The restaurant next door is a great perk. Food and drink is just a short walk over a romantic footbridge away. We love it here and plan on coming back each year as our tradition.

Had a lovely stay in cabin #7. Most amazing view of the lake, trails right outside the door and easy to get to. We brought all our own food so I can't speak to the restaurant.

Loved our stay here! Came for a day of snowmobiling and only stayed one night but will definitely stay here again! Lodge has direct access to the trails and trailer parking. Evelyn and Melanie were very friendly and attentive and made a great stay even better. The owner was also super helpful and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Room was clean and quaint with a great view of Lake Superior. Beds were very comfortable and after a day of riding that was much appreciated. Had dinner at the Cascade Lodge restaurant. Food and staff were both very good.

Have stayed here multiple times in different rooms. Some of them have just been renovated and some are a bit older. However everything is spotless clean and always a great experience all around. Also went to their restaurant which has a great atmosphere and most of the food was fine. Only down side was that one of the burgers was so badly burned that it was not edible. (To be fair it was New Year?s Eve and extremely busy so mistakes can happen) I also had this delicious whiskey blend at their restaurant which I still have to find out where to get it. Overall a great place to stay would 100% recommend.
