From start to finish we were otherwise unimpressed. Starting with slow greeting to being addressed as "ladies" (male & female couple) not once but twice. The food was not much better than the service. A burger with onions that had to have gone bad a week prior. Online reviews boasted great sweet potato fries, so naturally I ordered them. The waiter confirmed then brought out over salted potato rounds. Our order of fish was tolerable but again the fries were overly salted as well. Topped off with a $70.00 bill. Would stringly suggest finding an alternative place to eat.
Not accommodating. Response to owner: I did try and work it out with the host. We were a party of 9 and all I wanted to do was to push two tables together so we could eat together as a family. Your host would not allow that stating what if more people came in we might need the other tables. He wanted us to squeeze 9 people into a table for 6 with 2 empty tables next to us. Thank you for responding but you were not represented well. I own 4 retail stores so I understand customer service and employee shortages. I will raise my review to 3 stars since you responded. Thank you
Was expecting music for Saturday night, but they did not have it. Also the food was just normal bar food. It was good, but nothing special.
We did not enjoy the pizza we got and we split it between three people because it was so expensive for a larger pizza. The beer was good but there were only two tvs in the whole place and we went to watch a game, luckily we could look over the half wall and see the TV from upstairs. We left to eat elsewhere after.
This places was terrible. The long blonde haired waitress/bartender didn't know the soup at lunch time and wasn't interested in finding out what it was. The mixed drink was awful and she argued with us when we told her that. The food was not great but edible. We went barely checked on. Won't be going there anytime soon. I get it you are busy but take some pride in your work.
Felt compelled to leave a review here. We travel a lot for work and live in Berlin- where we have one of the best food scenes in the world. Got the Turkey pear sandwich, chicken Cesar, pepperoni pizza, and brownie. Contrary to the lunatics who seem to hate everything and rates this place with one or two stars, we weren?t expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. Some of the best fries we?ve had too- so I hope whatever they?re doing now they keep it up. Impressed. Also- prices are more than reasonable per the ?California prices? person. What does that even mean? If you want McDonalds prices, head to Two Harbors- there?s a McDonald?s there and I?m sure the staff here will not miss your passive aggressive comments. (Also staff is great). Will be back.
Wow! We were very impressed with the quality here. The food was great and awesome tap selection (including the ciders). Stayed in the area for four night, went here for dinner for three of the evenings, and would come back again! Tried multiple things from the menu, and they all exceeded expectations. Also, service was great! I have no idea where the negative reviews come from but don?t pay any attention to them. Get the Turkey Pear Sandwich!
Superb Patio view of the mountain! Pizza and kids meals were great, however the menu was limited to those options for some reason. We enjoyed a local beer from Grand Marais, and Wine from North Shore Winery which both were stellar. We even saw a small patch of snow in the middle of June! Great stop on our trip!!
Dive into a new experience with food and allow Papa Charlie's Saloon & Grill to bring you something special. We have options for every member of the family to explore! Feel free to explore our restaurant menu!
