I read so many good reviews and heard great things, so I decided to try Portillo?s when I came to Madison. Sadly, I wasn?t... impressed. The hot dogs remind me of cheap store brand. The toppings were great, but the dogs themselves were not. I also didn?tlike the beef bowl. I took one bite, ate the sweet peppers and that was it. The beef was too chewy and the gravy very salty.Maybe I?m too fussy. I guess I just expected better. Read more
Great customer service and good food. The chocolate cake is delicious. They also have a drive thru. Went with a friend and we... split a chili cheese dog and double cheeseburger. Quality of the food has gone way down hill. I order the Italian Beef with hot peppers and extra gravy because they seem to... either dip it too much or not enough. The last two times I have ordered (once in person a few months ago and via Doordash today)the cheese is not melted at all. They literally throw the cheese on top and wrap it up. I have had to microwave it to melt thecheese. Also there is barely any meet on it. Very disappointing and I will not be ordering from Portillo's in the future. Read more
The picture I took may not do this justice. (I should have done a side view.) I ordered the regular sized Italian beef & it was... big! FILLED with beef!
