Menu for VIP Asian Cuisine in Madison, WI

My wife and I went to VIP for the all-you-can-eat sushi on a Friday night. Our experience and service was terrible and the... hostess made us order only 3 pieces at a time, after which, we would wait 15-25 minutes before she would come again to take ournext order. Because we were ordering sashimi, we would eat for about 1-2 minutes and then wait those 15-25 minutes every time.When we asked our hostess if we could figure out a new system so we would not be waiting so long between rounds, she beganarguing with us and blaming us for the situation becasue we were ordering sashimi! She said we were eating it too fast!!! Shealso said that sometimes when there are large parties who order a lot of sushi, the wait can be long. While this, at face value,could be a valid argument, at the time we were there, it wasn't very busy, there were no big parties and only a single man wasordering sushi! True, the menu says only 3 orders at a time, but there was no attempt to improve the situation. Our inquirieswere met with argument and denial as if we were doing something wrong. Even reducing the wait time between rounds would havebeen acceptable. After all, our hostess knew we ordered sashimi and that it took no more than a couple of minutes to eat the 6pieces we were allotted. Again, they were not busy during the time we were there. Needless to say, we were really disappointedin the service and the refusal to be a bit flexible to meet our not-so-unrealistic complaint. I love this place for sushi. They have half price rolls Monday through Wednesday which is amazing. They also have hibachi and... Chinese menus in addition to full sushi menu. Never had a bad meal or experience. Also, the lighting is awesome. I highlyrecommend VIP! Read more
