I called ahead to place my order and was not able to complete my order (I wanted to add another bagel and 2 iced coffees)... because they hung up on me before I had the chance. Fast forward 10 minutes, I go to pick up my order and tell them I would liketo add the bagel and 2 iced coffees. The person ringing me up shoved the ticket in my face and said ?that?s not on your ticket?.Of course it?s not because I wasn?t able to finish my order before the phone call was ended. I was very polite as I work in foodservice myself so I understand how difficult it can be to deal with customers at times. So they make the bagel and the employeehands me 2 hot coffees (I asked for iced). Simultaneously, the owner was making my iced coffees ie. very disorganized place. Soafter the coffees are made, the owner asks if the employee charged us for the coffees (very poor service, you don?t do that infront of customers). They couldn?t figure out what the kid rang us up for so the owner threw the coffees at us and said?whatever just take them?. She was clearly very frustrated but that is no way to treat customers. Bagels & Beyond has amazing bagels - honestly the best ones I've ever had, which is why I didn't do a 1 star. I'm giving a 3... star because we ordered ahead and when we arrived, were given a bag that did not include the coffee we ordered. They made thecoffee and charged us separate for it. When we got home, we realized that the entire order was not ours. We called in and letthem know. When we asked what to do with the food we got because we had opened it already, they told us to bring it back tothem. When we got back to the place, they hadn't even started making the correct order. The person who ordered the order weaccidentally received happened to be in front of us in line. The person working tried to GIVE that person the food we hadtouched and took home. When the person realized the food had been already touched, he requested a new sandwich made (which theydid). While I absolutely love the food at Bagels & Beyond, the service was not good. Especially with COVID, they should not betrying to give food touched by a random person to another customer. That was the part that really made me uncomfortable. Read more
Food was great, but we did not receive part of our order or a receipt.
If you want a bagel sandwich that is consistently made wrong over the years, go to this location. It tastes fine, just be... prepared for about 85% of the time they will get it wrong. You can order a bagel breakfast sandwich & they'll put it on adifferent bagel than what you asked for. Or you order something like a PC (Pork roll & Cheese ONLY) bagel sandwich & when youget it you have a PEC (Pork roll, EGG & Cheese) sandwich on a different bagel than what you ordered. Or they added ketsup to anorder that didn't want it etc. If it's not one thing, it's another. They should rename this place "Bagel Grab Bag", because younever know what you are going to get. Bagels are always delicious. My problem is the way they treat their customers. Ocean Acres location is slightly more friendly... than the BHW location. But most of the employees either hate their jobs. Or are just rude and entitled. Not sure why they allowthis. And honestly not sure why I come back. Or anyone does.
