We met a few locals while staying at the local State Park. They suggested dinner at Rips, so we trusted their recommendation.... The food was excellent, the service at the bar was on point and the atmosphere at the bar was exactly what we wanted. Greatconversation with staff and other dinners. My husband ordered shrimp & grits and it was to die for! It was so good that we wentback the very next night and both ordered the shrimp & grits again. I am still dreaming about that sauce! Read more
Loved our dinner here. We decided to eat here on our way back across Lake Pontchartrain because we wanted a lake view. It did... not disappoint. The outside dining area had a great view since it is well elevated and they did a great job of using vinylcoverings to protect against the wind but keep the view. The service and the food was excellent! Update 8/11/17 if I could givesix stars I would. Meal was absolutely delicious, fresh grouper topped with big shrimp! So good! Update 6/16/18 still anexcellent place to eat! Tried the catfish bites appetizer, which were great. Grilled shrimp was delicious and the view wasawesome as the sun was setting! Update 9/23/22 Rips never disappoints, the food is always delicious, the fish nugget appetizeris fantastic, service always great and of course the sunsets are amazing! Read more
Sitting outside is so nice! The love bugs did join us but that's Louisiana for you. The crab cakes were perfect but those crab... claws in the sauce! Yum! Read more
This is my first time coming to this restaurant. The food was spectacular. I always get crab cakes, when available, at any... restaurant that has them and that's how I judge the restaurant overall. The crab cakes were delicious, more crab than cake! Ialso had the softshell crab covered with crab meat and it was delicious, also. The wait staff also helped me what they surprisedhappy birthday dessert at the end. We had the Brownie and it was over the top scrumptious. And let's not forget what made ourmeal the best was our fantastic server named Billy. He had a fantastic off the Wall charm that really helped make our eveningquite lovely. Read more
