7/22/22: Stopped here with a friend, who lives in Mansfield. From the outside, it looks pretty ordinary. Once inside, the smell... of BBQ hits you, and you're transported to a time when great service and great food come together! I had a two meat plate, withpulled pork, brisket (which was sliced in front of me), burnt ends, jalapeño stuffed with brisket then wrapped in bacon(firecracker), fried okra and green beans. The gentleman and his wife take great pride in their food, and make you feel likeyour family. They checked on us a couple of times to make sure everything was ok. The food was awesome, and they also have aspicy BBQ sauce which has a nice kick! The brisket didn't need any sauce, the pulled pork was great, and the burnt ends werevery good. 1st time here. Let me say that I was welcomed as if they've known me for years. They gave a sample of the turkey, and lord oh... lord. Definitely will be ordering for Thanksgiving. I ordered the brisket baked potato. It came with cheese, bacon, and sour cream. My husband ordered the burnt ends and sausage,... with mac n cheese and potato salad. We both thought it was just okay, we've had better. If you like hot stuff try their spicybbq, that was really good! Read more
First time trying this place. The potatoes were extremely tough on the outside, stale, and barely even warm. The brisket on top... was good, it had a nice flavor, great texture and a pretty good amount. Skimmed on the toppings (sour cream and cheese). Icouldn't even get much of the potato out of the skin. The bbq sauce had a really strong flavor of vinegar and was pretty thin.Things like that are personal taste(not mine). I could not eat the potato. The brisket was the only thing that was good.
