We love Sugarfish! The sushi and the sushi rice are so good. We ordered the Trust Me and NOZAWA Trust Me and both were so good.... We had to wait a bit to get seated, but everything came out super fast once we sat down and ordered. In addition to that, theservices were great too. Read more
I?ve been to the Manhattan beach location of Sugar Fish plenty times because I lived near there. Every time I go there I think... it?s worth the money because the food is AMAZING! Today I went to the Marina location for the first time since I live close tothis location now. They refused to give me eel sauce for my Trust Me to go box even if I paid for it. (I guess this is standard,I?d never asked for extra sauce before).My crab roll had so many hard shell bits in it I had to spit out multiple times. Thefish on my sushi was not as impressive tasting as it usually is from the other location. And parts of my meal seemed too saltyeven when I didn?t use any type of sauce. Yanagi Kitchen is cheaper and tastier then what I got at Sugar Fish Marina today. Nexttime I?m craving Sugar fish I?ll probably make the drive down to the Manhattan beach location. Read more

Quality fish ruined by poor execution. Warm rice, like very warm and a bit too sour. Consider letting the rice sit around for a... few minutes. Sauces that overpower and ruin ingredients, the sweet shrimp citrus makes it bitter and almost inedible. We had an unexpected emergency as we were starting to dine and two of our party had to leave. The waiter had the kitchen hold... our food until they needed to close, and then they boxed up the food from our Trust Me order that hadn?t been brought out yet soit was as fresh for my friends as possible. I finished my dinner solo. I was grateful for how they handled the situation, andthey even left one of the outdoor heaters on after they had cleaned up everything else until my emergency ride could pick meup. Oh and the food was just spectacular. Perfect temperature fish, the rice was clumpy but not super packed in, and everythingthat was sauced had complementary flavors.
