Founded in 1954, Swiss Chalet... operates over 200 locations across the country, each with its unique character. There is something for everyone at Swiss Chalet,whether you are looking for a quick bite or a full meal. Of course, a visit to Swiss Chalet would not be complete withoutsampling their famous Chalet Sauce! Customers expect a great deal from dine-in restaurants. Ideally, they would like good food,attentive service, and a clean and comfortable environment. I have visited this restaurant many times for dine-in and take-outservice. The restaurant is relatively modern and comfortable, but I found it less clean than I had expected. On one occasion,the first table I was given was sticky. She apologized and moved me to a second table that was also sticky. As a result, shegave up and cleaned the table for me. Drinks have been served in dirty glasses, and dirty cutlery (wrapped in a paper towel)has been provided. Inconsistency in the quality of the food is the primary concern. 99% of the time, I purchase their chickenmeals, which are hit or miss. I have received a well-cooked, juicy, flavourful chicken 50% of the time, while I have alsoreceived a rough and dehydrated piece that I would rather not pay $20-30 for. It is common to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated,have your drink refreshed, or address other issues at this restaurant. On my last visit, I waited 30 minutes to pay, and thewaitress never returned to the table area (she was in the back). So, for my bill to be collected, I had to stand up and shoutfor her attention. It would be best to visit another Swiss Chalet where you will likely receive better service (such as the onein front of the CF Markville mall). Read more
Our go-to for rotisserie chicken whenever we get the craving. Super consistent with just the right crispness of fries and always... moist and tender chicken. As with so many restaurants at the moment, staff shortages can mean some delays, but the friendly oneshere will make sure you're enjoying your stay. Read more
The server was very nice and doing her best to get to all the customers, but the restaurant was clearly understaffed because she... was assisting all the tables, which meant that it was hard to get a hold of her to order, etc. After waiting a long time toorder, we had to wait even longer to get our food; it'd be more understandable if the restaurant was slammed, but there wereonly a handful of customers seated at various tables. It was almost 2pm, so not really peak hours in terms of regular mealtimes.It's possible that there are fewer people staffed outside of core hours, but it was still a bit frustrating to have to wait,especially with two hungry kids with us! Food was good. I had the new southern hot chicken sandwich, fries and chalet sauce and a pop. I had a craving for the fries and... chalet sauce so I paid a visit. Service was prompt and friendly enough. No lie though, that night and the next morning I wasshooting out spicy, liquid diarrhea which is unusual for me, so I can only assume it was from eating here as it was the only outof routine thing I ate that day. First off, I would like to thank my server Jessica for a very fine evening. She served us well and made sure we were having a... good experience. Secondly, my kids are very picky eaters and it is always a hassle finding foods to their liking. I ordered bothmy sons the kids meal and they absolutely devoured it! It was such a relief that they enjoyed their meals. Thirdly, for me, Iordered a 1/4 with fries and the chicken was superb! It was juicy, tender, and just to my liking. Would I come here again??
