We?ve been here about 10 times. First few times food was good, then the next 4 times hit and miss. Tastes like they just pour... liquid smoke on everything. Last 3 times food has gotten worse every time. They advertise daily specials but don?t honor them. Ibelieve in supporting local businesses but last 3 times have done it for me. Highly dissatisfied with the food and dining experience. I had really high hopes after seeing this place featured on Fox 59... News, and couldn?t wait to try it out. I?ve had better smoked meat at dive bars (esp ???? The Checkered Flag - Indy ???? -Highly recommend), and our server was the WORST! Holy Smoke is a relatively new place in Martinsville. It has a nice atmosphere and they serve fried biscuits (very good) with... apple butter as a free appetizer when you're seated. The food is reasonably priced and you get large servings. The fried itemswere excellent they weren't greasy and well seasoned. However, the entrees were a little too salty or too much sauce. If youorder wings get them with sauce on the side. On the other hand, the greens I ordered were cooked perfectly, but were a bitbland and appeared to be vegetarian. I have to admit I was disappointed when I didn't taste any pork or smoked turkey in thegreens. That being said I liked Holy Smoke and plan to go back to try some other items from their menu.
