This cafe is a hidden gem and treasure! I say that because anyone I mentioned it to had never heard of it or thought it was... only for afternoon tea. IT IS SO MUCH MORE. The Vintage Tea Cup Cafe serves breakfast (all day) and lunch. There is a plan toalso open for supper in the New Year so check their website or drop in to get more info on that. THE FOOD IS SO GOOD. ALLHOMEMADE. Every one in our part of 5 agreed that it was the best bread, hands down, that we had ever had and in Newfoundlandmost people over 40 grew up eating homemade bread. My sister ordered a touton as a side dish and it came out about the size ofa slice of bread and much thicker. It was a meal in itself and to die for, fluffy inside and crisp on the outside. Two of ushad the hot roast turkey sandwich made with the outstanding homemade bread, lots of turkey and stuffing and homemade gravy, withmashed potatoes and turnip on the side. No prefab stuff here - all fresh made. It was so filling most of us weren't able toeat our supper that night. One had the French toast, again with the homemade bread, another had homemade soup and said it wasexcellent and the fifth had the breakfast. Not sure what they had with the French toast, soup and breakfast because I was toobusy stuffing my face! The meal, VERY reasonably priced, included tea/coffee and dessert. The desserts were, again, allhomemade. We had blueberry cheesecake, chocolate brownie, carrot cake, coconut chocolate cake and orange cheesecake. We alltried each other's desserts and they were to die for with the two cheesecakes being our favourite. I wish I had pictures. Thestaff are a delight, the prices SO reasonable, the service quick and efficient and the entire cafe is full of antiques. Youcould walk around for an hour and keep seeing more and more things. My 14 year-old daughter and right up to my 77 year-old momand the rest of us in between loved it. Can't wait to go back. Read more

I was in Marystown on vacation and stumbled across this little place. I am glad that I did. The food, atmosphere, and people... were wonderful. We went there 4 times during our stay. I had the Cod Au Gratin. It was superb. Their sandwiches were alsovery good. It is run by a really nice lady named Mary and she made us feel right at home. The map shows it in the wrong place. It is located in Saint Gabriel's hall. If you are in Marystown and want a good lunch, don't miss this place. I hope to get backthere some day.. Read more
