Had a great family vacation at Big Sandy. Was married here 8 years ago and have come back every year since. The lodge pool is great fun. It was a bummer the hot tub was down but by the last day they had it running which was great. The servers are so nice and so was Anya at the front desk. The place was rented was clean and look freshly painted. Love that you can rent a boat right there and there?s a bar there as well. Thanks Big Sandy. We?ll see you next year.

Tonight after 3 hours of listening to obnoxious kids, we left at 1:30 am after discovering that no one will handle a bunch of unsupervised kids who were dumped off to spend the night here! They were knocking and trying to open our door, running and yelling in the hallway and a younger child was often crying. The desk clerk, Peter, did nothing and said to call the sheriff or whatever we needed to do! When we asked the older boy to quiet them down, he got defensive. This is not a place I would want to stay if we still had young kids or if you want to sleep! Aitkin County Sheriff was not able or willing to respond to any noise complaint or child welfare issue as there was one boy in the group who appeared to be 13-14 years old. We have stayed here several times, however, this will be our last. Unfortunately, when we checked in we found out the bar, restaurant and pool were closed. Mixed messages on why but guessing short staffed and poor ownership/management. Most of the daytime staff were fine. Sarah was one bright spot to our stay - friendly and helpful.

The review is on the food and beverage side of the Big Sandy Resort business from our visit on Friday July 1st at 4:30pm. The restaurant was not busy, with one table of people inside, and a table of 4 outside. First of all the servers were on point when they were around. We did have to wait a considerable amount of time for our beverages because our server was not able to bring alcohol to the table and had to rely on others. The delay was almost a 1/2 hour. Then when the food start coming out it was slow, cold, and not served at the same time. Two of the pasta entrees at $18 were inedible as they were way over salted. This was brought up to our server with no action taken other than an apology. The all you can eat fish & shrimp was delicious, but you in no way can call it an all you can eat service when you had to wait 20 to 30 minutes to get a second portion. In the end both of the pasta dishes should have been removed from our bill as they could not be eaten. As for the other issues there looks to be room for improvement. My rating is a very weak 3.

We came here for a beer and dinner. Small but good selection of beer on tap. I had the broiled walleye with a baked potato. Delicious and filling. Our server was great!

Atmosphere is 5! Fantastic view! We rented The Pines dining room for my father's memorial gathering. The service was a solid 4. Food quality tho is about 2. The mac and cheese was terrible, no gravy with mashed potatoes, no butter for dry poratoes...it was not worth the crazy expense.

Fun spot to go with family! Very laid back vibes. My family has a cabin on a nearby lake so we always have overflow guests stay here. Can book up quickly as summer approaches, though. So book in advance!

Really liked our room, a restaurant and bar on site. Lakeside view is great to wake up to. Good food from kitchen, although a little too greasy. Pan fried wallet with wild rice pilaf, could be prepared without so much oil. Salads are super good!! Live music on Saturday very fun! Nice beer on tap...Dogfish and Lagunita IPA Wonderful spot to snowmobile from. Especially to the Savanna State Park.

Had our valentine's day dinner here. Reservations at 8pm. It was ok ordered a ribeye rare got it med well, not only that the special menu it was 30$ And not only that on the regular menu it was 24$ If you're going to exploit the holiday and charge more, don't give out the regular menu with lower price. Our server was great did her job to the fullest! Thank you for the response but that doesn't explain why my ribeye was over temp by 3levels. I ordered rare received med well.
