Went for a late night dinner on a Friday night. We got there around 1145pm. There was energetic live music that created a nice... vibe. Staff were attentive and friendly. Late night menu was limited but plenty of savory choices. We had the brisket sandwichserved with au jus and an extra side of O'Malley's chips served with gravy and cheese. Everything was fresh hot and greatflavor! We also enjoyed the holiday punch special that was refreshing yet had a nice kick. Great last-minute date, deliciousfood, friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. Read more

"Laughter is brightest where food is best." ~Irish proverb Meg O'Malley's isn't simply the best Irish food I've ever savored,... but also among the best food I've ever savored, period. This traditional pub produces consistently excellent food, hot from thekitchen and crafted with attention to how both texture and flavor combine to produce visually and palatably deliciousdishes. During my last visit as a party of four, I treated myself to many appetizers and sides I hadn't sampled; the resultsleft me wondering what other amazing dishes on the menu I was missing out on. CHEESE & ALE CROCK - If you order no otherappetizer, get this one! Perfect for tables of up to four diners, it's a lovely array of fresh-baked breads surrounding amelting mixture of Smithwick?s Ale, cheddar, and Dubliner cheese. I couldn't identify all of the breads, but each left a strongimpression based on texture alone--a knotted one with the consistency of a pretzel, supple brown bread sprinkled with grains, airy soda bread without crust that melted in your mouth, and toasted baguette slices. POTATO BALLS - The piping-hot masterpieceof a marriage between corned beef and mashed potatoes, coated in a layer of breading and filled with creamy cheddar and zestyscallions. The hardest part is letting them cool for a bit before indulging. LOADED COLCANNON - An Irish classic! Treatyourself to the loaded variant for an extra-creamy coating of cheddar cheese and crispy bacon bits with a sprinkling of chivesfor taste. DRUNKEN MUSHROOM BURGER - One of Meg O'Malley's newest dishes, while not exactly a traditional Irish creation, drewme in with its siren song of blackened beef, whiskey-glazed mushrooms, soft Swiss cheese, and curling-crispy bacon on abrown-toasted potato bun. An absolute must for meat-lovers. There must have been half a pound of beef on it, and cooked totender-juiciness. IRISH WAKE CAKE - Last, but certainly not least, no visit to Meg O'Malley's can end without indulging in a l Read more

I've been here twice and it's tied 1-1. First night was the bean soup and drunken mushroom burger. Soup excellent and burger... very very good if overcooked slightly. Next night, last night, had the Guinness and Beef pie. I'm normally a shepherd's pieguy but decided to branch out. It was inedible. No, not a mistype from the word incredible. It was so salty that it was likeeating salt straight from a shaker. My guess here is that the broth is laden with salt and then they added salt to the beef. Ialso think the crust was overcooked when it should have had a puff pastry light and flaky chewiness to it. As you can see inthe photo, it was baked to a crisp. I didn't crush them in my rating because not only did they take it off the bill butimmediately offered me another dish. That shows great customer service. It's still 4 stars because of the overall atmosphere, service, and the first night's burger. No place is perfect and the Guinness pie needs a total rework. Read more

When in town this was the first place I popped in to grab a quick bite. The Rueben was great and is the deciding reason I chose... 5 star rather than 4. It had a good chew and was not overly soggy, I've had some really bad ruebens before. This one was amongsome of the best. The atmosphere was slow and casual, as I came after typical lunch rush time. The server/bartender waswilling to make good suggestions and service was prompt. Read more
