To those people that live in the south, "Waffle House" is a household name. They are EVERYWHERE. And with well over 2,000... locations, primarily situated in the southeastern part of the United States, this no-frills, greasy spoon, cholesterol inducedcomfort food has been filling up Americans since the 1950's. The location I am focusing on is located on Sycamore View Rd. inthe east part of Memphis just a mile from Highway 40. Since I was flying in from out of town, my hotel was in close proximityto this particular Waffle House. I came here on the evening of Friday, September 24th 2021 at around 10:00pm and was starving.Since the dining area was closed for the evening, I went to the walk-up window and placed my order. I ended up going with abreakfast platter that consisted of two scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, white toast (that included jelly), and of coursetheir famous single waffle. Prices here are affordable beyond recognition; my whopping platter with a soda only cost me about$10 for everything. All my food was ready within a very quick 5 minutes. Once I took the quite drive back to my hotel, Iimmediately was flabbergasted just how much food they give you here. Everything was piping hot and ready to be consumed. Theeggs were cooked perfectly while the toast had a pretty hefty amount of salted butter prior to my spreading the sweet jelly overit. Bacon was greasy as expected as I assumed this stuff was cooked in lard. Hash browns were crispy on the outside with a softtexture on the inside. The waffle was fluffy and sweet and with their own house syrup, that only compliments to the addedsweetness. This place is true southern comfort food at its finest. I can only imagine the amount of calories, sodium, andcholesterol I consumed on this platter as it is not the type of food to be eaten every day (or in my case, at night). Payed extra for eggs. Didn?t get them. The gravy?s consistency is borderline water. If it wasn?t gravy color, I would have... thought it was water. Also didn?t get my chocolate chips in my pancakes. Then was given a receipt that didn?t list my items. Itipped. I was 30 minutes away at this point. I called to see what we could do and not charging me for what I didn?t get wasn?tan option apparently and was hung up on. Mistakes happen. I get it, but the person that picked up when I called doesn?t need tobe in customer service if they can?t find solutions. If you guys are hurting over 3$, I can give my business to someoneelse.
