Il Sugo used to be downtown Boise but they moved to Meridian. The owners have decorated the place with old Italian charm and... the food is excellent!! Once seated you get bread with olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce. This is a limited menu but Ibelieve we have eaten everything on the menu and never a disappointment. Terrific addition to the Meridian community. Grant the owner made a point of visiting the tables. Seemed to appreciate us being... there and I appreciate being appreciated. The mussel's were terrific. They had a gluten free pasta option. Super relaxedatmosphere. Finally we had a fantastic bottle of wine for $30 (La Fiera)! I mean in today's market it seemed like a heck of adeal and was delicious with our dinner's. Closed out the evening with a really good slice of strawberry cheesecake. Read more

We had made reservations for a special occasion and were looking forward to an evening of good food, good wine and fantastic... company - we weren't disappointed. Our server was "Saavy" and she was pleasant, professional and served our food in a way thatwe were able to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. We started with the bruschetta and the beet salad, both of which havenever disappointed us yet! Our entrees were prepared to perfection and everyone left the table satisfied and full. We recommendthis restaurant to anyone looking for a place that has a pleasant ambiance, a relaxed time for enjoying food, and who canappreciate that prices reflect not only the food, but the service and the ambiance as well.
