I was really craving great tacos shop food one night and hit up Ponchos. I got to call in the order which was fantastic and the order was ready and accurate when I arrived. The food was good, not to die because it was a bit dry but it definitely served the craving I had and the order being accurate was a huge win these days alone.
Great food! Love this place for a quick lunch. Half the price of the Mexican restaurants in town and taste better. Not a fancy atmosphere. More of a fast food vibe.
Went through drive through today at 2:30 . Something was a little off took 40 minutes to get food only three cars ahead of us. The burrito had two big uncut up chucks of meat nothing else. See photo. I eat the first have then opened it up the 2nd half very disappointed.
The quality here is incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes you'll get great quality, as you would expect from any of these Robertos style chains. Other times you'll get a cook who puts the smallest pinch of cheese, and meat on the tacos and fills them with lettuce, and stuffs the burritos with the cheapest possible ingredients, while leaving out any meats it's supposed to have. You can't ever tell what you're going to get, but you'll pay top dollar for it. It's honestly been degrading in quality pretty significantly. There's also the English problem, if you order 4 beef tacos, be prepared to get 14 chicken tacos. It's really just hit or miss, on whether your service will be good or bad. Before you go, flip a coin. Heads it's bad, tails it'll be okay.
So good! Freshly made on the spot. Lots of flavor.
My husband says: Decent food, but nothing special. Pretty flavorless and average prices. Wouldn't go there again but left feeling full. They have good portion sizes and it feels more or less authentic and healthy. My review: The food came out to us pretty fast. While I waited, I looked around and the decor was interesting with a weird cluster frames on one wall and random placement of frames on the others. The bathroom was disgusting and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. This restaurant should have $$ symbol signs next to it instead of $ because it was more expensive than I expected based on the reviews and I didn't feel like it was worth the extra money. My chicken taco was literally just shredded, dry, flavorless chicken in a taco shell with lettuce. A bit disappointing.
Drove to 2 other Mexican food restaurants on Sunday night in Mesquite both closed early. Lucky for us !!! We found the taco shop open till 10:00pm. This place was awesome!!! We really enjoyed eating here. Staff was very friendly and efficient .Food was fresh and delicious. Really hit the spot. Will visit again sometime before returning home.
Incredible portions and amazing service. The horchata is the powdered kind which tasted a little like white chocolate Kool-aid. The meat could have been a better quality and the guac and beans tasted like they came from a bag. Overall the flavors were just meh. I went into the bathroom to wash my hands and left feeling like I had every variant of covid, gross.
We are in the business of creating memories and smiles. Bring your family into Roberto's Taco Shop in Mesquite and allow us to craft memories that will be sure to leave you smiling for weeks.
