Absolutely loved my stay here. We had booked a private cabin and it was very comfortable. The beds were comfy, the shower was... amazing and the Aircon was a saviour during the heatwave. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had.The onsite cafe is also a nice touch, as the food was incredible and catered for vegans/veggies. Parking was absolutely fine andwe had no issues what so ever. The location is great, about an hour or less to Yosemite valley and it's a beautiful drive. Read more

The Yosemite bug is best for folks looking for affordable, cozy cabins with a nice location a decent distance from Yosemite... National Park. It's a 45-minute drive to Yosemite Valley. Please be aware that it is rustic so there is little to no cellreception in this area, you have to go up several stairs to get to your cabin, but that is part of the charm. What I like mostabout it is that it really feels like a rustic cabin getaway where I can disconnect and not like a cramped hotel or crazyoverpriced cabin. It's just off HWY 140 but far enough that you don't hear the highway traffic. The Yosemite Bug Cafe, ispricey, but is pretty dang good. The portions are HUGE so I prefer to split them with another person. They also have veganoptions as well. You can also buy a bagged lunch to take with you into Yosemite Valley. The atmosphere and crowd are very laidback and it's very easy to strike up a friendly conversation with your neighbors. I've been coming here since 2018 and I alwaysprefer to introduce people to Yosemite by staying here. Read more

Close enough to the parks but still an hour drive to the Valley and other park attractions. For the price, $200 a night, we had... a comfortable room with two queen beds and private bathroom. Emphasis on the rustic part of the description. No fuss, no extra.Fine for a place to stay while spending the days in the park. Having the June Bug cafe on site was convenient. The portions areHUGE so definitely able to share. Skip the lunch sandwiches to go - bare bones, make your own sandwich with stale bread. Thetrail mix is homemade in a baggy and the ?cookie? is two chips ahoys. It was clean and we felt safe our entire 3 night stay. There is a shuttle stop into the parks but we never used as it would?ve been an hour on windy roads on the bus. Read more

This is a hostel with simpler accommodations. One should not assume a hotel or a resort. Nevertheless, the location near... Yosemite NP make the accommodation attractive. but, you have to calculate 45 minutes to get to the NP. At least in the time wewere there it was an affordable accommodation. The accommodations are simpler but with a lot of love and offer the right thingfor every budget. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and tries to find a solution for everything. The restaurant cooksfresh and has different dishes on the menu every day. What I particularly like is that they try to avoid waste and disposablepackaging as much as possible. Read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by the ?Bug.? ???? I stayed here in a room with two queen beds with a couple of my friends in... early June, 2022, and we all really enjoyed our stay. It was pretty amazing how, despite its quirky decor, the hotelaccommodations were really comfortable. There were some really cool, creative sculptures of bugs around the property as well(see photos). The location was pretty ideal to access Yosemite, all things considered, with only a 35 minute drive to the ElPortal entrance of the park. I couldn?t eat the food at the restaurant at ?the Bug? because they don?t accommodate severegluten allergies / celiac disease, but my friends said that, even though it was pricey, it was very good. The sharedkitchenette space was actually extremely handy to have, too! Well organized and full of lots of kitchen appliances and utensils.Again, I was limited in terms of my gluten problem, but still got to boil water to make my dehydrated backpacking meals thatwere safe for me to eat, and was able to boil hard boiled eggs with my own kettle that I had brought, etc. It all worked outjust fine, which pleasantly surprised me. My one regret is that I didn?t make it into the hot tub / sauna / massage spa! Wechecked it out on our last evening there, but it was about to close, and wasn?t going to open until the afternoon after we hadchecked out. It looked amazing though. I hope to come back and try it out someday. Read more
