Great local spot. Quirky, but wholesome. Ordered chips and salsa, chorizo and asparagus plate and one grilled veggie tamale. The asparagus was charred perfectly, the chorizo was crisp, homemade tortillas were warm, salsa was hot and chips were fresh. Plus margaritas were strong. Highly recommend!
Saw the commercial so went to check it out. Wanted just to see the menu before deciding to eat. So we went in, I asked to see the menu but he insisted we sit, so we did. So far kinda odd, as seeing the menu first is not unusual, lots of restaurants post them. Anyway, we sat down and then he says "would you ask to see the menu in a fancy steak house? ". My answer was,of course, yes. I was insulted he would make such a comment so we told him never mind and we stood to leave. Unbelievably he say, God bless you, kinda in a sarcastic tone. We went out the door and he followed us out still hollering for God to bless us. I told him I am blessed but he was not. Sorry sir, your words did not reflect your actions. You want customers, be nice.
Went for first time. Had great lunch. Food was perfect, margaritas were the best, service was fun. We will be back.
At Milwaukie Farmer's Market location. My omelet was exceptional, loaded with fresh veggies, and worth the wait. His pork tacos were "pretty ok".
The $12.50 Margaritas are filled w ice, yet strong. Chips and salsa are not free. The owner says he learned that in running a restaurant that nothing is free. (Even my local drive thru gives chips and salsa w 3 rolled tacos for $4.98.) There wasnt even a full serving of rice on the platter. Over $57 for lunch for 2. We wont go back.
Brought my Mom and friend here a coue weeks ago. Place is small but fun! One of the owners was there and it wasn't too busy so she had time to talk with us, so nice! We ate way too much had some fabulous margaritas and ordered a bunch to go frozen tamales. So glad we made the trek from the coast!
Charlie is a gruff adorable owner who will make your mouth happy w/ tamales of every kind. Be patient, find a seat and he will be w/you asap. There is a yellow menu for take out(frozen tamales) or a hot meal on the two regular menus. Frozen tamales come in 4 packs and are individually large. And the margaritas come w/ chili salt on the rim. Great atmosphere and fun to watch Charlie interact w/other customers. Love this place, will return soon!?
First off, the customer service was so great.... Everybody was so personable, and pleasant! All I can say about the food and experience is...... Amazing, Terrific, Scrumptious, Delectable.... Tamale selection is out of this world ?, in fact they even have a dessert tamale section..... This is definitely a Goto spot, Especially if you are a true Tamale Aficionado...
Dive into a new experience with food and allow Casa De Tamales to bring you something special. We have options for every member of the family to explore! We are located in Milwaukie, feel free to explore our restaurant menu!
