This place has great, unique food and an awesome atmosphere for kids (and adults). They even had a basket of toys and coloring... books the kids could borrow while we were there. Our kids liked the PB and Honey sandwiches while we enjoyed the big kiddishes. The service was excellent and friendly. Love the vegan options as well. Read more
Funky Grits? food, especially its namesake dish, is really tasty. But they serve the relatively expensive dishes on paper plates... with plastic silverware and plastic drink cups. For a place that promotes sustainable farming in Africa, it?s a surprise thatnice, expensive food is served on disposables here. Real plates, real silverware, and glassware is far more sustainable, not tomention adds to the dining experience, casual as it may be. Using disposables is trashy, in both senses of the word. Edit aboutthe reply: Yeah, disposable stuff is better that other disposable stuff if it claims to be compostable. I'm not sure I'd want togarden with a bunch of plastic forks in my soil or anything but sure. The point is, what's better than eating off a bunch offuture trash, is eating food using big boy stainless steel silverware, big boy ceramic plates, and drinking from big boyglassware. Because these are reusable, and make for a much better dining experience. Read more

The staff was very good at explaining the different choices and there are quite a few. Delicious grits, especially the blue... cheese. Excellent shrimp and the fried avocados are a must try. Not a fancy place, but clean and neat. Order at the counterand they bring to your table. Read more
