Hands down the best place to eat out on the deck and enjoy a sunset dinner. We were also lucky enough to catch a Min-Aqua ski... show while we dined. The food was awesome! Compliments to the chefs! Outstanding service and friendly staff all around. Read more
Thirsty Whale has amazing waterfront seating both indoor and outdoor with awesome views. We went for lunch on a Saturday and... there was a 20 minute wait. We were seated within the estimated time. Before being seated there is plenty of space for thefamily to grab drinks at the bar. There are also games for the kids to play. Once we were seated our waitress greeted usimmediately. All the staff was very friendly. Our food came out timely and our family had absolutely no complaints. I had thegrilled ham and cheese and the ?famous? wild rice clam chowder. The soup lived up to the hype and the grilled ham and cheese wasgreat too. I highly recommend the well run establishment and will definitely go back to try additional menu options . Read more
We?ve been coming to the Thirsty Whale as a family for many years and have always had amazing food and service! This time was... extra special because my boyfriend coordinated with my family to propose to me in Minocqua, then he surprised me with a dinnerwith all of our family at the Whale! Ella, our server, and the manager were exceptional!!! They were so helpful, kind, andexcited for us. They took care of my family like we were their family and ensured that we had an absolutely perfect time. Theyallowed us to rearrange tables so we could all be together, Ella even put on my favorite music on the jukebox when we werewalking in to the restaurant! It was so special. Loved the nautical decor and the gorgeous views. Our server was super friendly and attentive. We loved the cheese curds and clam... chowder, but our sandwiches were just ok. The blackened fish in my sandwich was mushy and had a weird texture, and my husband?sfried chicken sandwich was like a giant Tyson chicken nugget- some kind of processed chicken product instead of a fresh friedchicken breast.
