Nice family environment. Today seem to be an oddity in that many orders were missing items and condiments. Staff was quick to... correct the issues but the many mistakes took away a potential fun dinning experience. My combo bowl was missing the sausage. Itook the bowl to show staff. They corrected the issue quickly. But when I returned to my table my soda was gone and my tablecleared. When I asked the table cleaner if he cleaned my table his comment was "I didn't clean your table, I cleaned that oneover there." Fantastic food....extraordinary staff (extremely polite and fun)...wonderful atmosphere with Chicago memorabilia. ..with a... history of how the restaurant started (beautifully displayed on the walls) ...with a full size beer delivery truck hanging fromthe ceiling...( example of rare and hard to come by standards: Mu wife and I went for lunch...they were making fresh Frenchfries so for our 2 minutes of waiting at most...one of their managers gave us a desert to share) Never see that kind ofcommitment to customers anymore ...it was a lovely gesture. I originally was going to post a review of an experience that wasn?t as pleasant but decided to call and discuss first. I am... glad I did because not only were my concerns listened to but Portillo?s made sure to address the situation and do what was intheir power to make it better. Very happy with how it was handled and their food is worth it. Good quality, huge amounts, andfairly priced. Not to mention a very clean environment?clean bathrooms and no sticky floors. Always excited to see a staple of food outside it's primary area. Always the the feel and can honestly say I've never had a bad... meal. My buddy tried his first Chicago dog and loved it as well. If you like good dogs or shaved beef this place has some of thebest. Read more
