I HAVE NEVER HAD AN EXPERIENCE LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE! I ate lunch at Maghees Grill On the Hill when I was looking at... houses/planning for my move to Mobile. I thought it was a GREAT little neighborhood restaurant that I?d like to frequent often.Food was good, everyone seemed to know each other. After I bought my house and moved to Mobile, I decided to have dinner there.Again, thought ?this is going to be a great place to eat on a regular basis.? I went on a Thursday night with a friend. We bothordered salads, an appetizer, and entrees. I wasn?t timing it but I believe it was an hour before our salads arrived. My friendand I were patient because we know things happen. I figured, once we got our salads, things would go more smoothly. I was wrong.After we finished our salads, we waited about 10 minutes for our appetizer. After we finished our appetizer, we waited quitesome time for our entrees. Finally, my friend POLITELY asked the server what was going on. It was a polite, quiet conversation.The server apologized for the long wait and advised our food would be out shortly. We continued to wait. Then, the cook came outwith our food. I was later told his name was Bobby. When he got to our table, he started YELLING at us, accusing us of yellingat the server. He was acting CRAZY. We immediately got up and headed for the door. Our server came to us and I asked to speakwith her outside. She and another server stepped outside and apologized profusely. I asked her if she thought we had yelled ather and advised that was not our intention. She said we absolutely did not yell at her, we simply asked what was going on withour food and she relayed that to the cook. She was in tears. She kept apologizing for how the cook treated us and actually gaveme a hug. I told her she was not to blame and that delays happen. I told her the only unacceptable thing was the cook yelling atus. Owner is rude and we told her we were canceling food order because we couldn?t hear ourselves talk over her conversation. She... apologized and said she would comp our lunch. Then, she walked out the door and then came right back inside and told us we couldleave. We have been there dozens of times. We only wanted to be able to hear our own conversation and not hers. Meanwhile thecook she was talking to had not even started on our food. I have never seen such rudeness from an owner. We eat out all thetime. We won?t be back. Nor will we refer anyone there. Well i tried to sit down with my Mom and sister for lunch but was unable to hear myself think because of the piercing voices of... the staff. Come to find out the owner was the one having a discussion with the cook and waitress. When we expressed the concernthe owner got an attitude but told us that she would gladly pay but then got upset and told us ?we could leave.? So we left andwe will not be back. Ever. Ever.
