Great choice for vegans and meat eaters. They have the choice of tofu or jackfruit for meat! Black and refried beans are veg... friendly but not the rice. But good choices and good eats! Read more

First, the stars are for the staff. They were absolutely kind and great all around. But the food didn't live up to these... reviews. Everything about the meal tasted canned, including the meat. There wasn't anything truly "authentic". The iced tea evenmanaged to taste off and we barely touched anything. Maybe the day we went it was simply an off day, but we don't think so. Verydisappointed. Again, wait staff were fantastic. Food left somethig to be desired. Read more

I visited Amaya's for the first time yesterday. The first positive things I noticed were the high quality napkins, and the... choice of mild, medium, or hot salsa. I got the medium salsa, and it was quite delicious. I enjoyed the chips as well - theyare a thinner chip so you can eat more of them ;) I ordered the veggie fajitas with an extra side of guacamole. What brought mehere were reviews on Happy Cow that talked about their many vegan options. They have mushrooms, tofu, and jackfruit aspossible meat subs - really cool! I asked to try to their wild mushrooms with my fajitas instead of the portabellos. The thingthat really threw me off was that our server was not very knowledgeable about what was vegan on the menu. She told us that therefried beans weren't veg (but the black beans were) , and that the sour cream was vegan. That seemed very odd. Anyway, weasked for vegan fajitas. When our food came out, the fajita cold plate had cheese on it as well as sour cream and refriedbeans. Someone else brought out our food who seemed much more knowledgeable. She confirmed that the refried beans are veg, andbrought us a new cold plate that had no cheese or sour cream when she noticed that we are vegans. That situation caused us tofeel nervous about what we were eating. However, through all that, we did enjoy the food. It really did taste fresh, so thename of the restaurant is accurate! I would go back, but I would want more solid clarification on what's vegan. Read more
