Im really disappointed in this school, and it?s so unfortunate because I really tried to like it for the sake of my nephew. They... do not care about helping your kids build socialization skills nor do they genuinely care if your child is emotionally/sociallystruggling. My nephew endured the same hardships/ongoing issues from 2nd through 4th grade to the point where we had to pullhim out because he refused to go back because he couldn?t take it anymore. He?s only 9! How does that happen? And I want tostress that he really wanted to make it work because he had so much pride in his school, but he finally had to step back anddecide this wasn?t a healthy environment for him. His teachers always claimed to want to help, but they?ve been caught lying tous multiple times just to save face for falsely accusing my nephew of wrong doing. They truly only care about making sure thekids are perfectly behaved while having great grades. On multiple occasions when they lied, they dragged out and/or ignored ouroutreaches when we?d try to connect with the principal in order to escalate the matter. They can only be considered a greatschool because they help kids get into good colleges. Read more

This school DOES NOT listen to the student body at all, they make us do surveys of our opinions of the school, but they don?t... take the time to look at them or take in consideration of what the students put. They are trying to ban books here just becausea couple of moms don?t want their kids to read certain books that have been in our library for over 10 years and most of theminclude poc authors and deal with hard topics that high school students actually have to go through. They disguise themselves asa ?character? school, but in actuality, they have ignorant staff that don?t want to improve the school. Do they really want tobe on the news AGAIN for their ignorance. It is a nice school but it could use some improving. My Lord, such frightful scenes have tortured me; and I know not what is... reality. Oh! Tell me, tell what is my destiny! Is there naught else but this existence here, so limited and narrow? And my soul,will it 'mid all the strife then be distilled, like purest drink, that poured upon the ground, to sink into the dust? Or dostordain for noble spirits, better things? My race, will it approach thy throne, or like the beast, but tread the mill, tillwearied unto death from its own sphere, escaping never more? And will the noble soul be recompensed for the shed blood andscoffing of the mob? I was a UA parent for 16 years. Both of my children graduated (2015 and 2020) from the school. I am so pleased with how prepared... they were for college. My daughter has an undergrad and masters degree from Wingate University, and my son is a sophomore at NCState. I appreciate the opportunities they had to become leaders in athletics, student council, and clubs. The athleticsprogram has grown so much over the years and the success of the teams is exciting to watch. I will be forever grateful for UnionAcademy, the character instilled in my children, and the support they received from teachers, staff, and coaches. Read more
