Traveling from south Georgia to somerset ky we stopped in at Sonic in Monticello for a bite. I ordered the 11 combination and my... husband ordered a bacon double chs burger mustard and ketchup chs meat bacon only. We ordered at 637pm. I got my food my husbandgot a wrong sandwich combo and at 707pm he finally got his newly made burger that was only warm on the outside wrapper. Now theman that brought our food to the car couldn't have cared less if us or anyone else got any food. From the looks of it there wasonly 2 people working the non caring server, and I'm guessing a manager in a purple colored shirt. No hiring signs, noinclination that anyone was in any hurry to do any kind of serving. Read more

In brief, good menu options and portion sizes, but pricier and slower than other places. Not the best choice if you are in a... hurry or on a tight budget, but using the app is generally cheaper and faster than ordering in person. Sonic has one of thebest dessert menus in fast food, by far, and their dinner options are pretty good too. I don't know any other drive-thru inMonticello that offers grilled cheese sandwiches or hand-breaded onion rings. As a chain, they have always been a bit moreexpensive than some other fast food places, but the portions tend to be larger. They usually have decent promos and deals if youorder using their mobile app, and I think they have a rewards program in the app, too. This particular location is usuallyfriendly and accurate with orders, but they can be slow, even when they aren't very busy. I think their drive-thru sensor mightnot work correctly all the time, because I've waited at the speaker for at least three or four minutes with no answer, and thenhad to pull around and either order from one of the stalls or at the drive-thru window. Last time, I went unanswered at thedrive-thru speaker, and when I pulled around to a stall and hit the button to order, a pre-recorded message (I think) told methat they were only offering drive-thru service. We ordered two number 10 chicken sandwiches and took them home to eat .one was good but the other was completely raw.
