First time trying out Lloydie's. They have a second location in the Mile End. The vibes are chill with r&b tunes and a nicely... decorated interior. Cool that the bathroom doors double as speaker decor. - Jerk chicken plate ($13.50) - jerk chicken had anice underlying smoky flavour. Nothing else on the plate stood out. - Regular poutine ($10.00) - massive portion. Wish there wasa half size option. Poutine was well done and liked how it wasn't overly saucy. I live in the area. Always get the fried chicken plate. In general I love rice. So for me the fried chicken here is amazing. But... the rice is I don?t know overcooked or maybe not high quality I also don?t like the sauce BBQ sauce they throw randomly on therice. The service is good staff are always friendly and nice. But I just wish the rice was a bit nicer. I?ll ask for no saucenext time. Read more

Generous portions for a good price. The oxtail is great because there is meat all around the bone that makes it look like a... delicious meat flower, however the sauce they use for it is not that tasty compared to other places in montreal which isunfortunate. Also as shown in the photo they had to use 2 containers so the sauce wouldnt seep through maybe a more waste freeapproach could be considered for that dish. The jerk chicken had 2 nice meaty pieces so again quality meat and it was yourtypical jerk not too spicy so perfect if this is the first time you try carribean jerk sauce.
