Don't go during a shift change. Had to ask someone after along wait for someone to serve us. Tea was sour and root beer in... bottle warm. Very disappointed in the service. Okay, the service was good. Our waitress made sure we never ran out of drinks so I liked that. Our food was mostly good except... for the eggs. The only problem was that my boyfriend's eggs had massive pieces of eggshell in them. When we saw the first pieceof egg shell that was in the scrambled eggs, we did not think anything of it. It's a restaurant and people make mistakes. No bigdeal. But when he started spitting out multiple massive chunks of eggshell, he refused to eat any more of the eggs. The gift shop is welcoming and beautifully organized. Although the dining area wasn't a very pleasant experience. The floors... were very dirty. I felt as if the Build your own Homestyle Breakfast, option on the menu is misleading. The select your meatoption is only a sampling. The menu online is very clear to understand but on the menu itself is not so clear on that option. Weonly saw our server 3 times. When she took our order, served our meal, and dropped off our check. Yet I believe everywherearound here in Mount Juliet is short staffed. Now I don't live in this area, I'm from west Texas. So I can say that from Texasto Tennessee the Cracker Barrel food quality is absolutely terrible. I'm not sure what they have changed within that particularpart of this establishment but that would be my biggest focus on this industry. I remember several years ago I could eatpancakes and biscuits like it was Thanksgiving. Now, I'd rather eat a Burger from Greasy Mac than have my gut take anotherbeating like that. The pancakes taste like they have been deep fried. Even the bottom is tough to cut through with a fork. Thebiscuits aren't even fluffy. It's like they bought the flour from a lead mining facility. And the ham tastes like it waspurchased from a third world country. I want to apologize for such a harsh review but I just can't ignore the obvious truth. Iwill never eat at Cracker Barrel again. If this review makes its way up to the top, to the crew sitting behind a desk making"executive decisions" to put more money in their pocket because they need to cut corners. Then I hope it does!
