This is the real deal. I always seek out German restaurants when I visit a new city, and this is the most authentic food I had... in a long while. I also chatted with Nick - he went to culinary school in Germany and sold a big and successful restaurant inDarmstadt to start a new life here. He's still responsible for the kitchen which explains the high quality of the food. Read more

A delightful German experience hidden away in a strip mall! Having worked in Berlin, I can attest to the authenticity of the... cuisine. But unlike literally every German waiter or barkeep I encountered in Deutschland, the service at Nick’s was warm andfriendly. 1- The main fare was just perfect. I recommend the Bratwurst appetizer. Very filling, enough to share with someone, and featured at least three different, flavorful items. Any schnitzel I saw or tasted was scrumptious. And the spaetzel remindedme of how even mac and cheese can be elevated to fine dining if done right! The Diet Coke I ordered came in a tiny Euro-sizedglass bottle, which I polished off in 2-3 sips. Annoyingly authentic lol I didn’t try any other drinks, but they had a largeselection of beer and spirits that I may sample next time I’m in town! 2- The dessert we tried was amazing. “SpaghettiEis” was vanilla ice cream put through a strainer so it looked like spaghetti, replete with a red berry “spaghetti sauce”and shaved white chocolate for the “Parmesan” on top. Light. Sweet. Whimsical! 3- It was affordable, maybe a tad more thanyou’d pay at an American steakhouse, but that’s to be expected. 4- The interior was both cozy and classy with chandeliers,German photo art, and what turned out to be a booked up reservation list that we weren’t on ???? Thankfully, we were able tosit at the bar, which may have been even better, in hindsight. We got to speak with the staff throughout and every one one ofthem were so friendly, and especially kind to my dinner guest, my ten year-old daughter. In closing, don’t miss out onNick’s! If you’re passing through the Charleston area or are lucky enough to live here, give them a try. Just remember tomake that reservation! Read more

What an amazing dinner! My husband and I are typically a one and done when we eat out, BUT Nick’s must become a regular stop... for us!!! We shared two appetizers; both were absolutely delicious. Also had two entrees, very difficult to make a choicebecause the entire menu spoke to us…both meals had a beautiful presentation, and equally wonderful. This is family owned andoperated. Nick & Kelly are both extremely welcoming and kind. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Thank you all! Lookingforward to our next visit… Read more
