Absolutely gorgeous setting, delicious wines, and lovely staff here.

We came for the witch walk and wanted to sit for wine. So some of us sat at a table while the others went to get wine. As we... were ordering someone who works there named Bill was kicking my family off the table we had been sitting at for 10 minutes whileI’m line to purchase wine. He was going around trying to kick other people off tables so he could give it to this other group.He told us the table had been reserved for 3 hours and was rude mean and unprofessional while kicking my husband son and sisteroff the table. Keep saying “who are you even with?” As we walked away he then gave the table to the people in line next tous that didn’t get a table yet or “didn’t know they had to be sitting to drink the wine.” They had gotten there thesame time as us and had no reservation. So we left and took our business elsewhere. Got 4 tastings and 3 bottles at tannerwinery and was so happy with the experience and wine. Truly he turned me off to ever coming back. Read more

Traveled to Murphys to visit with family May 2022. While walking through this quaint town we were drawn to the nice outdoor... seating at Hovey winery. We chose our 5 wines to taste with help from Laura. She was knowledgeable and able to answer all of ourquestions about their winemaking process and types of grapes used. My husband and I both agreed that all of the wines we tastedwere very good. Two of our favorites were Isabel 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2017 Barberer. I understand they offer a wine clubas well as special events throughout the year. We thoroughly enjoyed part of our afternoon at Hovey and will be sure to returnour next trip to California. Great staff and delicious wine. Love the yard on sweet summer evenings and Taco Tuesdays are always a favorite.

Our first visit to Murphys and Hovey was in 2014 and we had no idea that wineries existed in the area. What a surprise! We have... been back 4 times since, take friends with us every time and ALWAYS stop at Hovey. The wines are great, the atmosphere isrelaxing and the staff always makes time for you. Laura and Rick are especially great people. The wine club has several levelsof participation and the wine selections are excellent. While no longer available, the 2014 Zinfandel is the finest wine I havetasted. The 2015 is not far behind. Their Tempranillos are awesome as well.
