I took my family here last night for dinner. I ordered the grilled chicken with green beans and butternut squash. The chicken... was a frozen precooked breast, the beans were from a can, and I'm pretty sure the squash was baby food. My daughter's Mac andcheese was horrible and had a soupy texture. My wife wouldn't eat anything because the waitress said they had to fry the shrimp.This is possibly the worst restaurant I've ever been too. If I could leave a review with zero ? I would. Russ' is always on my list of places to stop when I come home. West Michigan (Holland) based chain sort of like a Big Boy but... better with great homemade food. Some of the best battered onion rings anywhere. Great breakfast. Known for 1/3lb burgers,grilled sandwiches (Slim Gem, Reuben), entrees like fried chicken, perch, meatloaf or prime rib (once in a while) or hot turkey& beef "sandwiches" with mashed potatoes and gravy. Great soups plus pies and desserts. Disclaimer: I worked here as a cook inand after High School in the mid to late 90's and some of the people I worked with like cooks, managers & waitresses are stillhere if that says anything about how they are run.
