It was fine. The fries were good. The fried pickles were adequate. The veggie wrap was OK. Two of my tablemates didn't get bacon... that should have been on their bacon burgers. And they weren't prepared enough to have Impossible Burgers in stock in time forSaturday dinner. But the service was attentive enough. And they have a good beer selection. Read more
Great food and great beer selection. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. The night we visited there was an artist performing acoustic... songs which I really enjoyed. Also, it wasn't too loud which meant I could still catch up with friends. I would definitely comehere again. Read more
Board & Barrel is a trendy spot in downtown Naperville that is known for its craft beer selection and live country and folk... music. There is a reason it is not known for its food. If you are looking for great food then you would be better served to lookelsewhere. Similarly, if you are coming on a weekend evening be prepared for a wait and for service to be less than stellar. Ifyou do decide to eat there, be prepared to pay above average prices for frozen and mass produced food. Overall, eat elsewhereand come to Board & Barrel for the atmosphere, music, and drinks. I love this place because it has so many varieties of cider! I have been looking for a cider bar that was close to home (closer... than the city) for quite some time with no luck---until now. Me and my husband went on a Saturday night. The live music wasawesome, the energy was high and the staff were very friendly and accommodating--and funny! The only reason I gave four starsinstead of five was because we found the food a bit bland. I had the Nashville Spicy Chicken and Belgian Waffle sandwich and myhusband had the Montana burger. Neither plates were bad, just a bit boring. the Spicy chicken sandwich could have used a littlemore maple syrup or some other kind of sauce, I found it was very dry and there was only a very small dollop of maple syrupunder the sandwich. The fries could also possibly use some kind of seasoning, they were also very dry and plain. On the otherhand, we had the cheese curds, and those were really good! They came with two different types of sauces to dip them in whichwere both very good, I would recommend getting the cheese curds : ).
