Great spot... Excellent food, super polite wait staff. Check out the salad bar... Delicious soup and several specials. One of my... favorite places to go. Clean bathrooms and kitchen area. Almost always a full parking lot... This is a new location but I thinkan improvement over the last location. This is a family owned restaurant and they started in the 1950's if I recall. I'll start by saying that I don't like buffets. This place reminds me of an old Sizzling Steak House with the salad and soup... bar. The steak was ok but nothing special. My girlfriend had scallops that she said were good but nothing special. Service wasgood but nothing special. I just can't get past the whole fast paced buffet vibe of the place without buffet prices. I loved the original Pewter Mug. I was expecting the same great atmosphere and good food as the first one. Unfortunately on this... visit it did not happen. We sat at the bar and ordered burgers which is not a complicated menu item. One was ordered rare andwhat came out was absolutely raw. This was definitely not expected and the restaurant was not crowded. It was a disappointingvisit. However Simone at the bar was extremely accommodating and professional and the bartender who took our order was helpfulas well. I am hoping that things will get better and will attribute tonight to the restaurant open only 3 weeks but managementshould be more visible and involved. They have great food, purported to be one of the best in prime rib. However, since they moved to the new location, well.. the... table service is really quite awful. We got seated and 15 minutes later with no acknowledgement our waitress came by andinformed us that she would be back in about a week and a half. Another 10 minutes rolled by and she said we were next. Notentirely her fault as the place was teeming with patrons, literally spilling out the doors into the parking lot. Needless to saywe left but not before having a word with the manager. If I remembered the name of waitress-with-an-attitude I would happilyprint it here. Pewter Mug is responsible for the disaster that is at that hapless place. Just the opinion of 4 people andprobably not just us.
