Great Ghanaian fare in Shaw/U Street Corridor! A bit pricey, but mostly reasonable for what one gets. The red-red was great!
Me and me girls had a fabulous experience, our waitress was very friendly and patient with our ignorance with the menu. The... mango ginger margarita that was recommended was amazing!! They ran with 2 waitresses that ran the entire establishment andhustled hard. There will be a wait for food but that?s how you know it?s fresh. First time trying Ghanaian food. It was jello rice, goat with boiled eggs and salad. The rice was not disappointing and sauce... was okay, but the goat meat was little bit hard to chew. Because I have tried Swahili village which is Kenyan restaurant but hadsame goat meat and it was soft and delicious. The spinach was not bad but I was expecting more like with sauce in it. I ordered my food online, received confirmation, and paid an hour and a half ahead of time and unfortunately it was not ready... when I arrived. This was the first time we tried fufu outside of our Ghanaian friends cooking us homemade food. The stewedchicken was decent and the prices were reasonable. The jollof rice was meh but overall the food was good. Try it out foryourself. The store front restaurant definitely gave me traditional West African vibes so if you want a quick hot meal that willsatisfy your eclectic taste buds then stop through. Read more
