Chick pea appetizer they give you is super delicious. I got a gyro sandwich which was also delicious. Food came out quickly. Service was good. Food is pricey.
Been getting food here for a long time. It has been awhile since I have been here. They did not disappoint. Had the Gyro with Fries. The server brought out some Pita bread and chick peas as an appetizer. The food was delicious. Great atmosphere. The staff is attentive and friendly. Great place to dine. I highly, highly recommend Akropolis to everyone. Good to see Lucas again. Great guy. I wish there was more then 5 stars. See you guys next time I am in town.
Where is Akropolis that I know? I drive 15 miles to this restaurant and what happened? 1) no chickpea salad as always with bread, the waiter said ok I'll bring it to you right away. 2) No veal, we are there for a dinner with veal and a Greek restaurant without veal?. 3) I understand the crisis, the prices that have gone up, but the combination of fish as entree was tasteless, and the seafood didn't seem as fresh as ever, (we packed it for home just tasting a shrimp) the scallops completely without flavor, should we save money on ingredients or on the cook? 4) 3 small glasses of house wine $ 30? better a bottle, but the waiter didn't suggest it. The good thing was the dessert (baklava) and the Greek coffee. It was our anniversary, we traveled 15 miles to the good restaurant, but it was an "expensive" disappointment of $ 180 for 2 people including tip. I don't think I will do 15 miles anymore for the same disappointment, not for the price but for the quality of the food.
If you're looking for Greek food this is the restaurant for you. Stopped in for lunch and the waiter was friendly and polite. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I had a chicken dish with Greek salad on the side and pita bread It was delicious It also came with a cup of soup which I had the clam chowder which was also very tasty. I will definitely go back again.
The place is situated in a non-descript mall with have to stores empty. We were here on a Saturday around 5pm got seated right away. The chickpea salad that you get is absolutely delicious. This was our first time here, so I wanted to make sure I had a good meal that represented the restaurant's quality of work. I told the waitress I didn't eat red meat. She recommended the stuffed chicken with feta and spinach. The food was absolutely delicious I highly recommend it.
Absolutely the best Greek food on Long Island. Great service, great atmosphere, cozy. They are very accommodating and make sure everything is to your liking. I'm Greek and this is exactly like home cooking. I was very impressed. I am so happy this was recommended. We have gone there a few times and will visit a lot more. Be prepared to EAT.
What do you do when your kids do amazing on their report cards you go out to the greatest Greek restaurant on Long Island. If you haven't guessed where I'm talking about yet they have something that I like to refer to as crack chicken. I swear they coat this stuff in crack because I can't get enough of it. The food is only second to the people that own the place. Had a great conversation with Matt as we were leaving I told him that we were so happy with our food. When we arrive the immediately brought us pita and chickpea salad. The chickpea salad is made with a very light vinaigrette chickpeas and onions. It is very simple but so delicious. The pita is warm out of the oven and cut into quarters and they brought us yogurt sauce to dip in. My wife had spinach pie and a salad. She was very impressed with the size of the Peace and overall The taste was great. My daughter went out on a limb and ordered something very unusual for her. She ordered a cheeseburger I have the only child that goes to a Greek restaurant and orders a cheeseburger. She said it was cooked perfectly and love the addition to the fresh tomato and the onion. My son went even Wilder and decided to order mozzarella sticks. I have never been more embarrassed for my family in my life. Just kidding they order what they order. I ordered a dish called the happy waiter which was crack chicken with onions and peppers and tomatoes all mixed together. The best part was it came with a bowl of my favorite soup lemon orzo soup. It has such a great flavor here that it is probably my favorite on long Island for this type soup. For dessert my kids have ice cream again being daring. My wife ordered a piece of baklava alamode and I ordered another greek dessert which was pretty good. I'm not even going to attempt to pronounce the name of it so I took a picture of the menu and you'll see it begins with a G Overall everything was fantastic. Our waiter Marcus was accurate and attentive without being overbearing. Obviously we will be back and back often. Thanks for a great night Read reviews like this and many more on Facebook @long island foodies
