Went here for happy hour and was extremely disappointed. The sign on the outside of the restaurant says $10 pitchers and half... priced wings specials. Then after we sit down the waitress says that happy hour special is only half priced wings, no pitcherspecial. Then after we get the bill she says that the half priced wing deal is only for orders of 10 wings, not 5. This was thebiggest rip off and lie. And the wings aren?t even good at all. Read more
A surprisingly delicious and well-priced gem in the New London downtown area. I was expecting exorbitant prices for the food and... drinks, but was served two well-made cocktails for only $8 per drink. The restaurant is also known for its wings, so I had toorder a 6 piece Thai Chili plate of wings. They were INCREDIBLE. The chicken was tender, and the skin was crispy with a generousportion of delicious sauce coating the outside. They have tons of flavors, so it's really the eater's choice. I also had a bowlof their evening's specialty soup which was a seafood chowder. It was also delicious and well-priced. Overall I only paid $40for two drinks, wings, and a bowl of soup, which is pretty good in my opinion. The only con I can think of is that thebartenders seemed hesitant when I asked for call drinks that weren't on their menu, and they had to look up the recipe beforemaking it. Booked an airbnb for a weekend in New London and it turns out the owner also owns Hot Rod Cafe. We decided to check it out and... I'm glad we did. Ended up eating way more than I expected. Had the garlic lemon pepper wings, lumpias, Philly cheese steak wrap,the Caribbean burger, and a few Tox Sours, which is a local brewery. They have seating area in the back, which overlooks thewater. Very chill atmosphere, our waitress was super nice, the place is clean. Needless to say, this will be a mandatory stop onmy next trip to NL. Read more
