I have lived in this area for 50+ years and have never been to Tony D's. We did not have reservations, we were walk in's. My... significant other had been a couple times before. The staff were attentive and overly accommodating. The meals, the wine, thespecialty drinks, the bread w/ dipping oil, dessert, after dinner cocktail, all absolutely excellent. Absolutely amazing! As a young, quiet couple we are often considered low priority. We also usually have at least one take home... container. This experience has been the exact opposite. Doted on, respected, and food so delicious you couldn't put it down ifyou tried. Hands down the most amazing experience my husband and I have found exploring Connecticut's hidden gems. Read more
Conveniently located across the street from The Garde Arts Center, dining here is an event in itself. A great place to celebrate... a special occasion or grab dinner before the show. Came in with a group of 10 for my friends 30th birthday. Booked for 12:15 for lunch. We arrived and were excited to try the food... because most people had never been before. Waitress was nice enough, answered questions took our orders and set off on sendingthe food to the kitchen. It took THIRTY minutes for the starter SALADS to hit the table, (let me also say there were only THREEtables in the entire restaurant). Another 30 minutes pass and we finally got our entrees. By this time we had been in therestaurant for almost two hours. When I went to find the waitress, who never asked if anyone wanted another drink, didn?t cometo refill waters etc, she was on her cell phone and was put out when I mentioned we needed the checks because we had to leaveand the food took an hour to get to the table. Would like to give this place another try, the house salad was nice and theentrees were good but the speed and service was far from what I was hoping for for a lunch service with three tables in therestaurant.
