I am visiting New Orleans it's my second day my first day here was terrible I ran into so many rude establishments from Payless... the rental car people to a convenient store. I gave it one more chance today I was looking for this place to eat the line waslong so I left ran into this place I love everything about it.The food was so good the guy was so nice this place was a breathof fresh air for New Orleans because if I ran into one more nasty person I was going to lose it. But this place was love I hadto do a review. Read more

Mind-blowing! Everything was so fresh. The service was incredibly fast, and the attention to detail in the food was exceptional.... The prices are competitive, although not the lowest for good reason. The tortillas were freshly hand made, the meats weredelicious, and every ingredient radiated freshness. The place is neat and has nice little decorations, although a little comic. The freshest taco I have had in New Orleans came from la Patrona. Great place! Read more

The guac was WET--freshly made with very unripe avocados. Only seasoning or spice was salt. This was the first, and a literal... offense. Then came the "white cheese dip" ("queso" as the gringos call it). It was WET?runnier than cheese soup. No, literally. And I don't mean the Millennial definition of "literally," (def: figuratively), I mean "literally," literally. Then came thevery mediocre entrees. I had 2 enchiladas of different kinds--both were meh. The beans that came with it were also WET. The bowlthey were in was clearly necessary, as they were literally DROWNING in their own liquid (the thin, clear kind). The beans infact sat below the WATER line. You can call these Katrina beans. At the end of the meal, I commented on thequeso-soaked-then-microwaved rice that came standard with the entrees, and my mother gave me a look and said "that was myfavorite part." I said "Me, too..." and after an awkward pause, I verbalized her thoughts. "And that unfortunately sayssomething about the rest of it." We all cracked up. Then there was the server. Pretty certain he's the owner, which makes allof this worse. We were his one and only customer and he was rude... Then he served us that trash quac like we wouldn't notice, and the rest is history. Hell no dude. Never again. Overall the flavors were not horrendous, but they were the epitome ofbasic. (But still, that WETness tho... See a theme?) WHY DID I PAY FOR THIS? SHOW ME SOMETHING SPECIAL (or at least decent)!People don't want to pay their hard earned money for basic. WE WANT SOMETHING WE CANNOT DO BETTER OURSELVES! No clue how thisplace has an avg 4+ star rating. Read more

My boyfriend and I followed these folks over from their old restaurant La Mansion. The food is authentic and everything tastes... homemade. The salsa is a green salsa with a unique flavor and the queso is fantastic! Lots of vegetarian options including thespinach enchiladas which are the bomb. Fresh squeezed margaritas are perfect and don't taste like a mix like most places. 5 for$10 Street style tacos everyday! Ample portions, lovely family atmosphere, wonderful service. If you're tired of Mexican foodthat tastes like literally nothing (I'm looking at you Carreta's ????) and inauthentic dishes please try this place out! Read more
