Last night we went to the new UES Flex Mussels. Such a delightful evening. From the host seating us immediately to our waiter... who was knowledgeable and even told us his favorite dishes. 1st the oysters, were so fresh and clean and truly mouth watering.Then my two friends ordered the mussels and they couldn’t have raved more about them. I’m not a fan of mussels but I didenjoy dipping my bread into each of their pots and each broth/sauce tasted better than the other. I ordered the salmon and itcould have possibly been the best I’ve ever eaten. The salmon was cooked perfectly and it was sitting on top of wonderfulveggies, not to mention the skin which was so crispy and amazing. Other times I’ve had their chicken which is hands down thebest juiciest chicken with crispy skin. Of course the desert was a given…the fabulous homemade donuts filled with each of ourchoices with dipping sauce on the side. The employees genuinely seemed happy to be working at Flex, which is a very good sign. Isuggest you make your reservations in advance to get the time you want because this restaurant was totally hopping & not anempty seat in the house. Can’t wait to go back. Read more
What happened to this place? The cozy charm and ambience of the old location has been replaced by a bland space that seems to... have been decorated by an intern who googled “trendy seafood restaurant”. Even worse, the quality of the food and servicehas declined noticeably. A quarter of the mussels were not opened and the bread was doughy and undercooked. I was seated next tothe servers station and bumped numerous times throughout my meal. The experience left me disappointed. This used to be one of myfavorite restaurants in the city, but I won’t be back. Do better, guys!!! Read more
Newly opened location, after the sad fire that closed the original UES location. NOTE: NO happy hour yet. Reservations... recommended. Go early or late for a quieter time. Come here for energetic dinner in a gorgeous spot: the atmosphere is VERYloud, buzzing and tables are very close. People bumping into each other guests and staff alike, which I didn't find comfortable.The bread, truffle friends and the mussels broth and flavors were excellent, the lobster roll scrumptious. The actual size ofmussels were small and disappointing. Friendly and attentive service. Save room for the made to order donuts. Read more

First I loved the mini oyster menu which had a good range of fresh east coast and west coast oysters . The mussels were cooked... to perfection . It came in a huge pot at first I was overwhelmed but I finished it all… then the donuts were so good and youhad so many filling options to pick from. Read more
