Firstly, they brought us a glorious bread basket. It had a variety of tasty bits in it. We ordered a Mojito and an Arnold... Palmer and the Arnold Palmer was never refilled or even offered to be refilled, someone just came and took the glass off thetable and that was the end of that. The Caesar salad was pretty small and very basic. The beef carpaccio was pretty good witha nice portion of sliced truffles. The Barolo braised short ribs were tasty and cooked well. The absolute star was the vealchop, which was super thin and crispy. The gnocchi seppia however was unfortunate. It was too soft for my palate and the Union top was grainy like it had sand in it. Also the server added cheese on top that I definitely did not like. The mashedpotatoes were interesting, in the way that they are good at first but the longer you eat them the less you like them… Theywere very sweet, which is not what you expect mashed potatoes taste like. With the $282 price tag before tip I probably wouldnot return to this restaurant. It wasn’t overly busy and I imagine they get a lot of their patrons from the Ritz Carltonwhich is right next door. My family and I had a perfect dinner at Gabriel's. We had a lot of good drinks (including the espresso martini ????) and amazing... food (highly recommend the burrata app and tagliatelle bolognese).
