Completely overrated place. I just dropped $100 for very mediocre Gnocchi ($36), an underwhelming burger ($22), a slice of... cheese on the burger ($5), and a glass of wine ($16). Service was bad. The barkeeper refused to charge my phone. I don’tunderstand how this place can have such a high rating. Literally ANY other place on the UES is better than this. Read more

From Texas and this was an absolute treasure to find. Real local joint with amazing food and drinks. They made us feel right... at home. We were looking for a local place with great food not touristy for our anniversary and this was it. Make sure youstip by while in the city. Jake at the bar is spectacular. Thanks Jake. Read more

$35 for gnocchi in a bland sauce with cherry tomatoes. Menu said truffle oil but couldn’t taste it. $5 extra for a piece of... cheddar cheese on the $22 6oz burger. Two waiters that took 15 minutes before taking or order and never asked how our food was.Overpriced for organic, bland food in a cramped setting with mediocre service. Very surprised at the overly high reviews. Lotsof better options in UES. Read more

Best spot on UES, hands down. Super chill vibe that feels as cool as any Soho/West Village hole in the wall but without any... trace of snobbery or pretension. It’s cozy, comfy, and intimate, perfect for a date night or relaxed dinner with friends.Awesome wine selection with generous pours, and amazing food with good sized portions that have not shrunk lately like someother places nearby. The large, fluffy gnocchi are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The paella is amazing, tuna tartare isplentiful and perfect. Great guacamole too. Afterwards we went to Ed’s Elbow Room next door, which is so fun. It’s got avery cool New Orleans vibe, good music, good beer, friendly bartender, and delicious free popcorn—who could ask for more? BothEd’s and Heidi’s are the kind of place that once you discover you’ll not want to go anywhere else. Read more

Not sure what happened. Live in the neighborhood and dropped in occasionally in the past and it was solid. This time... disappointing. Service was still good…one guy working the whole small room but he hustles and is a nice guy. $15 wines normalprice for the area but only like 3 oz pours! Tried the lauded “house made” gnocchi…only 5 or 6 of them all with an oddoverly soft mashed-potato like consistency. Served with a few cherry tomatoes, peas, and barely present mushrooms. Then accentedwith (not truffles) but maybe .30 cents worth of truffle oil and a tiny dash of Parmesan cheese. So underwhelming and $35! Irecently had the house made lobster ravioli at Carbone and that was about $35 too with fresh lobster and a bigger portion! Andthat was at a proper table /decor for those prices…Heidi’s is simple dive bar type decor and stools. Ingredients may be moreexpensive for restaurants these days but you still got to come stronger to justify a $35 pasta with no meat/seafood in it.Again, server guy was good guy…props to him.
