DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THE HIGH RATINGS! THE NEW MENU IS 2 STARS AT BEST. Have been a long time customer of this place before the... summer. I thought I’d come back here after the summer. The restaurant changed its menu completely and stop serving classicKorean foods and pivots to seafood and fried chicken. To my dismay, just after 4 months of being away, the service here becameoutrageous and the food is also mediocre at best. You are charged for water and there is absolutely 0 service other thandelivering food, I feel like I’m literally eating a takeout at a restaurant and everything was ordered through an onlineportal. Funnily enough, when I asked about why they don’t serve water, I said that I don’t have to give them tips afterI’ve already ordered???????????? After I paid for the water, one of the bottom arrived with 1/4 of it gone and the cap hasbeen opened. I have not seen anything this ridiculous even out of a restaurant in NYC. Also, the revamped menu is verymediocre. Can’t believe they charge $11 for plain pasta with garlic powder and literally no oil. The signature fried chickenalso tastes very not ideal. This place is completely different from the last time I’ve visited. Just feels like the originalstore got bought out and now the new owners don’t know what they are doing. Read more

This was a random find for us. We ate in. NOTE: everything is electronic! We didn't realize that you seat yourself then scan the... QR code to order so we stood around waiting for people. Essentially it's a ghost kitchen. Order and pay online or through theirtake out kiosk and they bring you the food. We did the wings and drums combo which was delicious. A bit salty but good! We alsoordered the garlic parm fries which were so good! We sat inside and it was like a disco (techno music and lights that "danced"to the beat. Didn't realize they also have an adorable outdoor space in the back! It was good food - definitely would go back. Read more

You can’t just wing everything in life, especially with Korean fried chicken, the source and quality of your chicken matters.... Koko’s Korean wings are not only crispy and finger lickin on the outside but juicy on the inside! The chicken is minimallygreasy as well, which allowed me to eat as many as I liked without feeling sick, I even bought some more soy garlic wings to go!We tried the combo, it was super delicious, the spicy wings were actually spicy!! The truffle crispy chicken salad is my alltime favorite salad! I mean look at the greens!! Super fresh and crisp. Who knew adding truffle oil to a salad could work? Thechicken was extremely crispy too, usually when I order a crispy chicken salad, it’s not crispy… but not at Koko’s, theircrispy chicken is ACTUALLY crispy! We loved their kimchi burrito. Instead if regular kimchi fried rice, kimchi burrito is aquick and easy alternative to munch with you hands. Especially if you’re already ripping apart your delicious wings with yourhands. Their tteokboki was topped with crispy calamari. Chewy rice cakes simmered in sweet savory spicy sauce!! It’s heaven. Idon’t know anyone who doesn’t like this dish honestly. They also have some amazing housemade iced teas. We tried their lemonand peach, I know you’re thinking lemon iced tea is basic…. Not at Kokos!!! Their lemon iced tea is crisp and refreshing, the lemon does not taste artificial at all either. I would say it’s the best lemon iced tea we ever had. We also got the peachiced tea, it was also sweet and refreshing, honestly thinking about it rn makes me crave it more, especially in this heat. Theyalso have boozy drinks if you wanna bring it up a notch. Soju is always fun with friends!! Stop by their location and hangout inone of their swings located in their private outdoor seating in the back, or check out their Upper West Side location! We shallbe back really soon!! Read more

Before writing this honest review, please know I don't have any bad intention for this restaurant. I am just sharing my bad... experience at this restaurant regarding their food. First of all, I am Korean. Due to my homesick, I was looking for a Koreanrestaurant near my place and I found this place yesterday, May 5 2022. After reading all the reviews, I was excited I could finda high-rated and looking good Korean restaurant until BEFORE visiting here. Shortly, My experience of this restaurant was sobad. I really needed authentic Korean style fried chicken. But it's okay even though they could not make the real Korean stylechicken. I totally understand because they are probably not Korean. Regardless authenticity, The chicken was so dry and thefried batter texture was so hard to chew. The roof of my mouth was painful due to the dry and hard texture of chicken and thefried batter. No juicy, dehydrated chicken, dry chicken..... Tasted like they just bought a cooked- fried chicken itself, hitthem up, spreading sauce and serve it. Lol... I couldn't help but thinking they made this chicken long time ago. Even thechicken didn't look like fried. I mean they didn't cook after getting my order. Just hit them up and served me. Soooo badquality, no taste... I better to try to make the real Korean fried chicken.... So disappointed...... Never visit again. BBQchicken in Ktown will be better.???? Also, my friend ordered teriyaki rice bowl. It looked so undelicious. Lol. And I wonderedhow the taste was. Of course, better cook at home lol. Such a bad experience! Seriously, this restaurant needs somesolution. People pay you for having a nice meal! Anyway, I am not sure my case was unlucky. If you guys tried the same qualitychicken as I had yesterday, please don't consider that was Korean fried chicken. If you go to Korea, you can try awesome friedchicken ×100000times more than this. I hope my friend and I were only people who got bad quality food here. Read more

I can't believe I haven't been here and live right by! I'm so glad there's a good Korean Fried chicken spot in the East Village!... Their fried chicken is definitely tasty and flavorful! Better than most places! I love the different flavors--spicy and soygarlic. Also-- if you are big in spicy, must order the buldak chicken to share! It's cheesy on top and it's mixed with chicken, onions and rice cakes. We also ordered their fried dumplings and, sweet potato fries and Koko salad. The salad was differentthan anything I've had because of their pineapple dressing. It's pretty good and refreshing! Don't forget their ongoing drinkpromotion now too! I tried their Lychee Cocktail Soju and it was exactly what I needed for the night! Perfect to pair withKorean food! Check out my other food adventures on @nycfoodiebabe! Read more
