My parents visited La Boite en Bois last weekend and found a steel nail/screw in their food. Yes, a nail. The waiter/kitchen... admitted the nail was from their kitchen and they merely provided two free steak entrees (worth ~$90). They did not evencompensate the entire meal (~$250 total meal) let alone provide additional compensation for potentially killing acustomer. Service was well below average for a restaurant that is supposed to be somewhat nice. They did not do anything unlesscalled up on or asked. No bread or even plates / silverware with the bread and no water refills unless asked. Regardless, therestaurant is extremely lucky we did not eat the nail, otherwise it would obviously be lawsuit worthy. Luckily we looked at thefood but anyone could have just scooped up a bite without looking. Imagine an elderly person, a kid, or anyone just eating theirfood normally could have been sent to the hospital immediately. There really does not need to be any more said here. Theyclearly did not provide sufficient compensation or remorse. Read more
Discovered this place recently while shopping in the neighborhood. Everyone is super friendly - even the regulars who are more... than happy to give advice or welcome you in! Food is great, and the wine list has some real great value gems. I haven't eateninside yet but seems super cozy. The outside seating is really nice if not too hot. Great place to have a long leisurely lunch -say knocking off early on a Friday for a long lunch when the markets are down! Read more
Lovely, cozy setting for after a day at the opera. We liked our crab cake appetizer and linguini best and felt the roasted... chicken was a little more lacking in flavor. Read more
