Menu for Metro Diner in New York, NY

When you walk in, you feel like you are in a regular American diner, I find that there are not a lot of American diners around,... which makes Metro Diner a pretty unique place. I feel like it was made off of an "American Diner" Template. The interior looksthe same as any other American Diner. The staff seats you quickly, and they give you water quickly, everything seems quick inthe beginning! They give you one of their huge menu's, and they let you decide what you want, without them bothering you. Youjust raise your hand, and they will come over quickly. On Zagat I saw a Ham Sandwich on the menu, but when I got there, I didnot see it on the menu! I asked the waiter "do you have a Ham Sandwich?" The waiter said "We can make one." That really got methinking that the service here is one of the best on the Upper West Side! The waiter asked me what bread I wanted, and whatcheese I wanted. The food comes fast, and when I got the food, it was great! The cheese tasted good, the ham tasted good, thebread tasted good, and it was overall really good! The French fries were also good, the fountain Coke as well! The atmospherewas really good! Each booth has it's own light, and it was not that loud. The booths were comfortable enough. Wonderful food! Terrific, friendly staff! Old school art deco diner! What's not to love?

We love Metro diner. It's the best diner in our area and the prices aren't bad especially for where we are. Great fries and... burgers are very good. I'm not a vegetarian but the veggie burger is amazing. The shakes are nothing special at all so I'd skipthose next time. They make their own salad dressings and the ranch is very tasty. Delicious food, friendly service, busy for a reason. There are restrooms in the back, plenty of seating (accommodating one... person to a larger group), places to hang jackets at the end of each booth, and they even make a special "parking" spot forstrollers. The line is to the door every Sunday, but it moves very quickly. If you're dining alone or in a hurry, the counterseats are perfect. Try the cheese blintzes...yum!! Read more

Classic American dinner with all day breakfasts. My wife's salmon salad was generous in size. My pork chops were just what I... wanted. Not too big and not too small. Cooked nicely and with fried onions, although I just realized that they forgot the applesauce. The chocolate mouse cake was incredibly moist--one of the most delicious I have had anywhere. Our one complaint was thatwhen the air conditioning was in it was blowing right on us and too cold. Still recommend Metro Diner. Read more
