Northeastern thai joint that offers dishes not commonly seen in mainstream thai restaurants. Most of the dishes were very spicy,... including the papaya salad that somtum der is named after. Waiter asked us for the spiciness level when we ordered our food, andwe’ll tone down it to “normal” and not “spicy” next time. Overall good atmosphere and had a fun time. Read more

I was really excited to visit but for me it didn’t reach my expectation. People were great, food was good in general, but... missing something special or impressive. The taste of the restaurant was mild compared to other Thai restaurant. Their style wasnot serving strong seasoning dishes (which was good for me tho.) In addition, u can adjust spicy levels of some dishes. Thebeef in our pad Thai was a little bit dried. The taste was not that strong. The salted egg flavor salad as appetizer was goodbut the same, taste was mild. Nothing ready stood out for me. Chicken was a little bit over fried. The edge was beyond crispybut a little bit hard. We also had the fish soup. Normal. Read more

10/10 would eat again and again I must preface this by I love acidic and spicy foods. I like it pungent. I want so much shallot... and garlic that I can’t respectably kiss anyone for the rest of the night. What we ordered: Cocktails - yum. Kinda strong. But I’m weak. Fried chicken - yum sauce. Chicken kinda old. Skip this Bamboo shoot salad - I want this by the bucket load. Ilove bamboo shoots. Funky and toasted rice-y in all the right ways. Spicy fried rice - kinda one note. Shoulda gotten the otherfried rice ??????????? Salted duck egg som tum - it’s perfectly limey and fish saucey and spicy. I was dipping a side ofwhite rice into the fish sauce at the bottom of this ???? Read more

Esaan (Northeastern) style Thai food with flavor just like Thailand. Many Som Tum style to choose. We visited from Maine where... there aren’t that many authentic Esaan food. Ordered Som tum, Larb, Tom Saab, and raw shrimp in spicy sauce. It was perfectspiciness and very delicious. We left very satisfied. Definitely recommended. Read more

Simply one of the best and most authentic Thai restaurants in NYC. Stepping in you’ll be hit hard by an unapologetic wave of... fishy south East Asian smells. The decor is a bit simple, but the flavors more than make up for it. If you are adventurous strayaway from the typical phad somethings and get a warm salad (larb) and basic noodles or rice on the side. It’s not for thefaint of heart, but if you know you like real authentic Thai food, you can’t go wrong here. Read more
